Love & Sports!
Happy Tuesday! Today we have a freebie, and my topic was actually inspired by Dini. It was a comment she left on my Fangirl Down review regarding how we don't see many sports romances featuring golf. I know I have read a whole lot of hockey and football romances. For today, I am sharing sports romances featuring sports other than those two.
- The Locker Room by Meghan Quinn - Baseball
- The Highland Fling by Meghan Quinn - Caber Toss
- Little Too Wild by Devney Perry - Snowboarding
- Coming in from the Cold by Sarina Bowen - Skiing
- Kiss Hard by Nalini Singh - Rugby and Track
- Even If It Breaks Your Heart by Erin Hahn - Bull Riding and Barrel Racing
- Spare Me by Tara Sivec - Bowling
- Fangirl Down by Tessa Bailey - Golf
- Blocked by Jennifer Lane - Volleyball
- Catch a Wave by Savannah Scott - Surfing
What "other" sports romances have you read?

I wonder what makes some sports more romantic than others? Hockey and football do seem popular on romance TikTok.
ReplyDeleteGreat question. I need to put some feelers out on this. Maybe it's because the men tend to be very large (tall and built)?
DeleteGreat list! Hockey and football do seem to come up often. Baseball is another big one - Wild Card by Staci Hart had a baseball player, and I'm pretty sure The Bromance Book Club, the first book at least, is about a baseball player?
ReplyDeleteBaseball definitely is popular, but I actually have not read that many. Hockey and football dominate my read shelf. Yes, Gavin was a baseball player in Bromance.
DeleteYou have some great ones here on your sports romance list. I have read almost all of them!
ReplyDeleteLook at that!
DeleteFun topic, Sam! Even though I'm not a huge sports fan (other than some hockey and football), I still love sports romances. I really loved A Little Too Wild. The whole trilogy was so good.
ReplyDeleteYou watch more sports than me (I watch none). That trilogy was excellent. It interesting to get three different authors setting books in the same world with overlapping characters. It must take some level of planning for consistency.
DeleteLove your topic choice!! I always love seeing unique sports and hobbies pop up in books.
ReplyDeleteI think the most unique was in the Highland Fling, but I also love reading about things I know little about
DeleteYes, there are a lot of football and hockey romances! I don't see many with ice skating, but I loved From Lukov With Love by Mariana Zapata. I'd like to read If it Breaks Your Heart. Love that cover!
ReplyDeleteThe Hahn book is YA, but it feels older. I really liked it.
DeleteThat's a great idea Sam!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI've never been into sports and I'm not much of a romance reader, so this is a genre I know NOTHING about. It's not one I'm likely to read, but I'm glad so many people enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
It's a favorite of mine
DeleteOhhh I do love a sports book! Especially a swimming one, if it is done well! These look fun, I will have to check a few of them out!
ReplyDeleteMeghan Quinn did an Olympic series that featured swimmers, but I probably read more in the young adult realm.
DeleteGreat choice of topic, Sam. I have read several featuring baseball, and agree football and hockey are very popular. The bowling one is different for sure.
ReplyDeleteBowling was an interesting one. My dad was a big bowler back in the day, so I do now a little bit about that sport
DeleteAww, that's awesome—I'm glad that I could inspire a post topic! 😃 The Locker Room is the only one I've read and I loved it. Most of the others are still on my TBR and I can't wait to check them out. Great post!
ReplyDeleteSometimes you don't realize a trend until someone points it out, and I know I gravitate to hockey romances. That said, it is definitely a sub-genre that is bursting at the seams. The Locker Room was a series I really enjoyed. I had a lot of fun with those guys.
DeleteI only recently discovered Sports Romances in the last few years, thanks mostly to Mariana Zapata. Great twist this week!
ReplyDeleteI found after reading Kulti that Zapata wasn't for me, but I am glad she pulled you into this amazing sub genre
