Superstar by Kate Meader
He never saw her coming ...
After almost a year away from hockey, Bastian Durand’s return to the game should be a triumph.
Instead he’s taken down by the Chicago Rebels mascot.
It can’t get worse. Or maybe it can. Because the human inside the Rowdy Rebel costume is none other than Pepper Calhoun.
His friend’s sister.
His coach’s daughter.
And the woman Bastian has wanted for the longest time.
Pepper has always been a magnet for bad luck and now she’s ruined superstar Bast Durand’s big comeback. So that tracks. Everyone, from her father and brother to the fans and press, heck, even the NHL commissioner, hates her.
Everyone but the one guy who should.
Hiding away is the only thing she can think of, except Bast has the same idea. To her utter dismay, he’s determined to protect Pepper from anyone who dares breathe a word against her.
And to convince her that crashing on the ice isn’t all that different from … falling in love.
Hate Mail by Donna Marchetti
Naomi and Luca have been pen-pals since fifth-grade. Well, more like bitter rivals caught in an epic battle of insults and verbal jousting...
But what starts as a hilarious chain of hate filled letters, slowly develops into a friendship spanning coasts and years. That is until one day, years later, when the letters suddenly stop.
It’s been two years since Naomi last heard from Luca. Two years since the letter that changed everything.
But when a new envelope turns up out of the blue at her desk at the local news station, Naomi is determined not to let Luca have the final word.
Falling for Alaska by Belle Calhoune
Don't miss the first trip to Moose Falls, Alaska where a down-on-his-luck football player and a sassy restaurant owner find themselves going from enemies to lovers in this small-town romance — perfect for fans of Brenda Novak and Annie Rains!
A small-town restaurateur and a big city former football player go head-to-head in this heartfelt enemies-to-lovers romance . . .
As the oldest of three brothers, former pro-football player Xavier Stone is no stranger to making tough calls. Like returning to his small hometown of Moose Falls, Alaska to help run his grandmother’s hard cider company and gastro pub. He agrees to keep an open mind, but between working with his estranged father and confronting heavy childhood memories with his brothers, Xavier’s ready to rush back to civilization. Even the stunning woman who runs his grandmother’s restaurant seems to instantly dislike him . . .
True Everett knows better than to let a ridiculously handsome man distract her, especially when it’s the same guy who stands between her and owning Northern Exposure, the tavern she manages. She didn’t pour her soul into the restaurant just for Xavier to swoop in and snatch away her dreams. But amid all the barbs—and, fine . . . all the sparks—flying, True glimpses the man beneath the swagger. That version of Xavier, the real one, might just steal True’s heart.
The Irish Goodbye by Amy Ewing
It’s hate-at-first-sight when a jilted Irish chef returns home to Inishmore and immediately clashes with a mouthy American tourist.
This steamy romance novel by New York Times bestselling author Amy Ewing is perfect for fans of Abby Jimenez and Beth O’Leary.
Cordelia James was once at the top of her game—a renowned street photographer with a massive social media following, gallery showings in Chelsea, and a lucrative book deal. But after the sudden death of her father, Cordelia can barely force herself to leave her apartment. That is, until she sees an ad for a summer gig at a cozy cottage on Ireland’s picturesque Inishmore island. Cordelia is on a plane before she can talk herself out of it.
The moment she steps off the boat, she crashes—literally—into Niall O’Connor, a grumpy local who’s just returned home to Inishmore from Dublin. Niall is nursing a broken heart and trying to patch up a broken life, and he has no time for posh American tourists. The more Cordelia’s and Niall’s paths cross, the more they make each other’s lives hell. But as with all rivalries, their hatred is about to reach a tipping point—and it’s going to heat up their cool coastal nights.
Featuring a lovable band of quirky supporting characters, The Irish Goodbye is a steamy, emotionally gripping tale of love, passion, art, food, and finding where you belong.
Rent to Be by Sonia Hartl
Isla Jane is living the millennial nightmare. She’s got a shiny new MBA and no way to pay for it, thanks to her dead-end entry-level job, and nowhere to live, thanks to her miserable salary. Going home to her parents is not possible, but for once Isla’s brother may be her saving grace. He’s out of town on business for a month, meaning the guest room in his condo is blissfully empty.
Or so Isla thinks, until she runs into Cade Greenley, her brother’s best friend—who’s crashing there while his own condo is undergoing renovations. When a desperate plan to sleep under her desk miraculously turns into a house-sitting job for one of the big bosses at her office, Isla is certain her luck has turned—with no one, Cade included, the wiser. It’s a perfect solution—until Cade catches her sunbathing at a mansion that is definitely not hers, and she admits she’s house-sitting because she can’t afford rent.
The pair strike a deal—Cade will keep Isla’s secret from her overbearing parents if she agrees to pose as his girlfriend at a few upcoming corporate events. The fun and friendly vibe of his office is a surprise compared to hers, but the biggest shock is that each “date” with Cade feels less and less fake. Suddenly she’s looking forward to every minute they spend together while the chemistry between them sizzles. As Isla’s house-sitting scheme begins to unravel, she'll have to face the fact that her biggest lie of all is the one she's telling herself: that she's not falling in love with Cade.

I haven't read any of these, but just Falling for Alaska to my TBR. Looking forward to the small-town Alaskan setting :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks promising, and I would like to use that to check Alaska off my reading challenge
DeleteOf all of these, Falling For Alaska piqued my interest. Of course it is from Forever, so I will wait patiently for my library to get it. I have so many romance books on my TBR, I wouldn't know where to start to answer your question, Sam.
ReplyDeleteForever is hit or miss for me, but my library does have this book.
DeleteThe most tempting to me is Hate Mate :-)
ReplyDeleteHate Mail had some good reviews on GR. I have a hold at my library, so I will know if the hype is real in a few weeks.
DeleteI don't have any of these on my TBR but I usually enjoy Kate Meader.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a while since I read something from Meader. Her audiobooks usually come to my Hoopla, but it seems to not be the case any longer.
DeleteI haven't read any of these but as a huge romance reader, I really can't say no to any of them! I'd keep them all.
ReplyDeleteI really hope to read them all. I have a hold for Alaska and Hate Mail. It's the others I need to get my hands on.
DeleteHate Mail is really calling to me. I need to see if my library has it.
ReplyDeleteI have a hold. I think it's a long one, but you know, it will come through the same day as all the others. *eye roll*
