Top Ten Tuesday - Most Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is...

Most Read!

Today we are scheduled to share New-to-Me authors. In 2023, I read 125 New-to-Me authors. I previously shared a list of some of my favorites, so I wanted to do something else. Because I wasn't pleasure reading for so many years, I find myself late to the party for many authors, but when I discover them, I tend to go hard on their backlist. I looked through my spreadsheet from 2023, and I found that I read multiple books by 46 authors. I thought it would be fun to share the ones I read the most books from last year.

A few of the authors, like Karen White, were new-to-me while others were newish or favorites. Without further ado, these were my most read authors in 2023. I featured my favorite I read by each author last year, too.
  1. Sawyer Bennett (9 books) - I have been a long time fan of Bennett's hockey romances, and I continued to devour her newest series.
  2. Susan Wiggs (6 books) - I read my first Wiggs book at the end of 2022 and continued working through her catalog in the new year.
  3. Sarah Addison Allen (6 books) - In 2022, I read Other Birds and was captivated, I had to read more of Allen's books. I think I read the rest of her catalog last year.
  4. Karen White (5 books) - I started with White's most recent series. I enjoyed it so much, I went back to the Tradd Street from which the Royal Street series spun off from. I have no regrets.
  5. Colleen Oakley (4 books) - I read an Oakley book back in 2020, but it was reading The Mostly True Story of Tanner and Louise that pushed me to delve into her backlist.

  1. Karen Hawkins (4 books) - I was having so much luck with these "magical" books that I found Hawkins and greatly enjoyed her Dove Pond series.
  2. Meg Mitchell Moore (4 books) - I found Moore's most recent release at the library and knew I had to read more.
  3. Nalini Singh (4 books) - Singh is another author I had read in 2022 and wanted to read more from. I really loved her Hard Play series.
  4. Tessa Bailey (4 books) - Bailey is an author I have read in the past. Her A Vine Mess series was one I enjoyed a lot last year.
  5. Heather Webber (3 books) - Another author I found when seeking out more like Allen, and each of her books was a solid hit for me.

    1. I am obsessed with Allen. There are no more books for me to read, so she needs to get cracking on a new one.

  2. Holy granola, 125 new-to-you authors!? That's amazing 😍 You convinced me to get Tanner & Louise and I can't wait to read it. Also, maybe this'll be my year to finally read Singh and Bennett! 😂 I hope you discover even more amazing authors in 2024, Sam!

    1. That book is SOOOO good! I would be hard pressed for anyone not to love Tanner & Louise. They were just fantastic characters. You have never read Singh? I am shocked. It seems like everyone has read those psychangling books (not me). I like her contemporary books a lot

    1. I think her Cold Fury books still hold up for me, too. I am a fan of her hockey books, and she has a new series coming out (March?) that looks interesting.

  7. I enjoyed Tanner and Louise and I love all of Nalini Singh's paranormal books, and thrillers, but I haven't read her contemporary romance. I have the first book of the Tradd Street series from my library, I just need some time to listen to it!

    1. I am not a huge PNR reader, but I know those Psy-Changling books are popular. I hope you get a chance to read Tradd Street. It's good, and I really liked getting to know Nola as a teen
