My Week in Review
Happy Sunday and Merry Christmas Eve! I hope everyone had a great week. This is it, guys, the home stretch of 2023.
This week was so busy at work with management trying to let as many people as possible have off, but it was a good week at home. My daughter flew in on Wednesday. We went for lunch at Ugly Dumpling. I have been wanting to try it, but didn't really have anyone to go with. The place was adorable and the food was great. My daughter even said that one of the dumplings tasted like her Yei Yei's dumplings. He's a great cook, so I see that as an endorsement.
Saturday, we went to see Fiddler on the Roof. The play was great. After, we went for ramen and bao. It was all quite yummy. Today, we will go to my sister's for dinner, but the real treat will be tomorrow. My father and daughter have been cooking up a storm. I cannot wait to taste it all.
So, I have another update on the NJ Transit bull, Ricardo. NJT is now marketing a doll of him. Gotta love it.

Stacking the Shelves
I was jumping up and down when I got approved for Thompson's new book. I enjoyed her previous two books, but the premise of this one is too good.

Read Last Week
Between work and having my daughter home, my reading took a bit of a hit. I could only get through four books from my TBR, and I really haven't made a dent in my audiobook. What I read was great though.
My favorite book was Take Two, Birdie Maxwell. Birdie was America's sweetheart until she challenged the (mis)behavior of her famous director. When she returned home to lie low, she finds an anonymous letter from someone in her past. In an attempt to rehab her image, she sets out with a reporter (who happened to be her life-long crush) to find the man from her past who set her the letter. This was a wonderful rom-com, and Birdie's personal journey great, too.

Well, we did take pictures before we ingested. LOL! Cute food for the win. Happy New Year to you as well.
DeleteA very belated Merry Christmas Sam. How wonderful that you and your daughter got to spend time together and had such a great time. I love Fiddler on the Roof. My daughter came home after Christmas and goes home tomorrow, I am already missing her. Those dumplings look so good. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI hope you were well enough to enjoy the holiday. Fiddler was great, but the ending really hit me hard with what's going on in the US. They had security and metal detectors at the theatre too which is not the norm. Made me very sad. It's so hard when our kids leave us ((HUGS)), Carla. I know I am counting down to March when I will see my daughter again
