Island Life!
Happy Tuesday! Today we were challenged to find ten books with a common setting. I was playing around with LOTS of ideas when I notice a few island books. A few of these are fictional islands but most are real locations with things in common such as boat rides and beach scenes, and the fact that I really enjoyed them all.
- Summer Stage by Meg Mitchell Moore - Block Island
- Kismet by Becky Chalsen - Fire Island
- Our Place on the Island by Erika Montgomery - Martha's Vineyard
- Same Time Next Summer by Annabel Monaghan - Long Island
- The Wishing Game by Meg Shaffer - Clock Island
- The Invisible Husband of Frick Island by Colleen Oakley - Frick Island
- You, Again by Lauren Layne - Manhattan
- Off the Map by Trish Doller - Ireland
- On Fire Island by Jane L. Rosen - Fire Island
- One Night on the Island by Josie Silver - Salvation
Have you read any books set on an island?

Islands are one of my favorite settings! I've read a lot of island books, but most of them are spooky or children's books.
ReplyDeleteIslands can definitely be scary, and I think the isolation and how you are trapped without a boat/plane is a big factor with that spookiness
DeleteI've only read One Night on the Island from this list, but that was a good one!
ReplyDeleteIt was a GREAT one! Maybe my favorite from Silver
DeleteWhat a fun idea! It has me thinking of books with island life in them. I could come up with a few. I've only read Layne's book on your list.
ReplyDeleteNothing like the island Manhattan (now I am singing the song...)
DeleteI was too tired for my brain to come up with ten for this prompt. Island is a wonderful choice and I didn't even think of it, haha! I read and enjoyed three on your list: Frick, Off the Map and One Night on the Island.
ReplyDeleteI am always tempted to deep dive, but I try to keep my list with my more recent reads. I know I have read so many more though.
DeleteI love a good island setting, although I prefer those with a moody, broody vibe. The books you listed look cute and fun, though!
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
Light and fluffy is more on brand for me, though On Fire Island is about a woman checking on her loved ones after she dies.
DeleteIt's freezing here right now so I'm all about your island topic! I've read and loved five of these. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's been 20s in the morning (say too cold). I don't think there were any tropical islands featured, but lots of summer and beach stuff.
DeleteThat makes me want to spend some time on an island. I bet that would be heaven atm!
ReplyDeleteA tropical island, maybe, though even Manhattan Island is having mild weather today
DeleteI also enjoy a book with an island setting. I have read a couple of these and enjoyed them. Nice list, Sam.
ReplyDeleteI liked that I found a variety of islands. Manhattan is urban while other's are beachy, and some, like Salvation, were inhospitable.
DeleteYes! Love an island setting. And I loved several of these, while several others are on my tbr. :)
ReplyDeleteThere were good ones on the list and a few where the island even seemed like an additional character.
