Top Ten Tuesday - Here Comes the Bride

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is...

Here Comes the Bride!

Happy Tuesday! I am excited to read everyone's posts, but I have no talent with trying to match characters up from different books. I know when I read other people's posts that I will be be like, "of course", when I see matches of characters I am familiar with, but I just went blank.

Summer can be associated with many things, but one popular thing is weddings! I actually love wedding books, and as I always cry at weddings, I always cry when I read wedding books. Below are a list of some books I have enjoyed where I had the opportunity to attend a wedding and/or be involved in the planning.

  1. Unfortunately Yours by Tessa Bailey
  2. Kismet by Becky Chalsen
  3. Our Place on the Island by Erika Montgomery
  4. Dial A for Aunties by Jesse Q. Sutanto
  5. Before I Do by Sophie Cousens

  1. The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren
  2. The Wedding Game by Meghan Quinn
  3. The Wedding Ringer by Kerry Rea
  4. The Wedding Season by Katy Birchall
  5. Marriage on Madison Avenue by Lauren Layne

    1. I love getting pulled into all the action, and many of the authors do such a beautiful job conveying the emotions during the ceremony. Hence, the tears.

  2. What a great topic, Sam. I also love books with weddings in them, but have only read three of these. You know what that means......

  4. I cry at weddings too. I read and enjoyed The Unhoneymooners and Marriage on Madison Ave too. I can't remember much about the plot of either, though, lol.

    1. They did an audio only follow up to The Unhoneymooners. I hope they put it out as an ebook. Olive's family was so much fun

  5. I love this! So cute! I want to do this now. Maybe I will next year. I have read 4 off the bottom row that were fun.

  6. I just read and really enjoyed Big Gay Wedding by Byron Lane. It hit close to home in that the character's relationship with his mother mirrored my own journey with my coming out to my mom. It also is filled to the brim with light hearted humor. It makes for a winning combination!

    1. Yes. A book never sits right with me unless the author can balance the heavy and the light. Sounds like a wonderful story!

  7. The Unhoneymooners was such a good time. I loved Olive's family - and I still want a book for her cousin Diego. :)

    1. I always felt with how colorful her family was that there were more stories to tell. I know they did an audio only follow up. Curious as to what it's about

  8. Fun list! Weddings are always fun, not to mention full of drama. No wonder they make great subjects for books.

    Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

  11. Oooh, I love a good wedding book, too. The Unhoneymooners is still a favorite. I also enjoyed Our Place on the Island, and Before I Do is high up on the tbr. Happy Reading, Sam!

    1. I think every one in my list is a favorite. Our Place on the Island and The Unhoneymooners are so different, but equally wonderful, and Before I Do. It's so fun, but also had me a bit emotional given the situation. I hope you get to read it

  12. I don't seek out wedding books. I don't mind it when a wedding occurs as part of the plot though. I have only read Dial A for Aunties from your list.

    1. I wouldn't say I seek them out, but they seem to find me, and my experiences have been good with them
