This year's lucky winner of a brand-new dream home: Janine Brown of Cedar Falls, Iowa.

For heartbroken Janine "Janey" Brown, this announcement has the hallmarks of one of her Aunt Midge's harebrained plans to lure her from her tiny kitchen, where she's been submerging her grief in the pursuit of the perfect pot-au-feu. Meanwhile, across town, Janine "Nean" Brown couldn't be more thrilled. She just knows that this house is her destiny, the chance to escape the latest in her revolving door of crappy jobs and drunken boyfriends.

When both Janine Browns descend on Christmas Cove, Maine, to claim the prize they both think is theirs, however, they discover that more than just a dream home awaits them at the water's edge. Filled with wit and charm, The Good Luck Girls of Shipwreck Lane is Kelly Harms's enchanting and heartfelt debut--a testament to the many ways love finds us, the power of a home-cooked meal, and just what it means to be lucky.

When Janine Brown of Cedar Falls wins a dream home in a giveaway, she knows big changes are coming her way. One of the biggest will be the other Janine Brown of Cedar Falls becoming part of her life.

I loved the premise of this book, and what was even better was that it brought Janey and Nean together. Janey had been isolating herself and suffering from social anxiety related to the loss of her fiancĂ© while Nean bounced from one terrible boyfriend to the next. It was so wonderful the way Aunt Midge brought Nean into their very small family, and a beautiful bond formed between these three women. And, oh! How Aunt Midge will win your heart. She was such a force and an important part of Janey's life. My heart filled with joy as Midge did the same for Nean.

Lots of antics, food, and love made this one rather special. Every success the Janines experienced were celebrated by me, and it warmed my heart to see both their worlds grow in such meaningful ways.

Who knew a house on Shipwreck lane would lead to a new beginning and a promising future for both Janey and Nean.

A Little Too Late

New from twenty-time USA Today bestseller Sarina Bowen! How to behave when the guy who broke your heart two thousand miles away turns up in your Don’t drop your lucky coffee cup in shock, even though it’s been ten years. Don’t get defensive when he asks how you ended up working his family’s ski mountain… and why you kept it a secret. Give him the worst room in the resort. He deserves it for suddenly waltzing back in like he owns the place. (Which he kind of does.) Four, five, six, seven, eight and Do not kiss him in the hot tub. Try to keep your heart intact after you break all of your rules. Because Reed is leaving again. Hate can't turn back into love. And it’s a little too late …

Second chance romances are always the best, but there were many second chances in store for everyone on Madigan Mountain.

The romance was one that flooded my heart with so much emotion. Reed and Ava were college sweethearts, each other's first and most passionate loves. But Reed chose to abandon his future with Ava because he carried so much anger and guilt from his past. Everything about their romance had me feeling something. Their reunion was spectacular and seeing that their bond never faded made me giddy to see their romance play out.

This was also a second chance for Reed and his dad. Reed's family fell apart following the death of his mother. One big reason was his father's inability to deal with her death. Coming back to the mountain led to healing for both Reed and his father. I was so happy that they were able to mend their hearts together, and that they could also work together to preserve their family's legacy.

I had an amazing time on Madigan Mountain, and I cannot wait to return.

    1. I like her books so much. This was a solid series. I liked each author's book, but I have such a thing for second chance romances like this one. Harms' books are great. I am so glad I grabbed that first one from the library because all have been great successes for me.

    1. I went on a ski trip and did crossword puzzles in the lodge. No real adventures for me either. My daughter got the subscription and we have shared an Amazon account since she was a kid. My library is her library. I try to read one a week to make it worth the cost

  7. And I should get back to Sarina's books! I don't know why there are authors I stop reading suddenly when I used to love them. Weird!

  9. I loved the Madigan Mountain series and if I remember correctly this one was my favorite. I loved seeing Ava and Reed find their way back to each other. And the healing that started within the family was so rewarding.
