It's time to celebrate my year in books. I will be spreading my favorites throughout a bunch of categories, but these are all favorites. For more of my favorites, check out my Five Star Friday posts. Today I will be sharing.....
Stupendous 2020 Releases
I Wish Got More Buzz!
If you visit me on the regular, you know I read a lot. Because I read a lot, I tend to take some chances with my books. Yes, I do read quite a few of the B I G books, but I also reads those books, that are not getting all the buzz, yet they deserve it. The following are ten amazing books released this year, which I thought were really special, but have under 1000 ratings on Goodreads. I stuck primarily with YA books, though, I put one middle grades book on there, because I loved it so much.
- Breath Like Water by Anna Jarzab
- Now that I've Found You by Kristina Forest
- Little Universes by Heather Demetrios
- The Brave by James Bird
- You Know I'm No Good by Jessie Ann Foley
- How to Build a Heart by Maria Padian
- What I Like About Me by Jenna Guillaume
- The Easy Part of Impossible by Sarah Tomp
- Say Yes Summer by Lindsey Roth Culli
- War and Speech by Don Zolidis

ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteOh I love this list! Now that I've Found You definitely deserves WAY more buzz and love, it's such a fantastic book :)
ReplyDeleteBoth of Forest's books were so good!
DeleteThere are so many books that really deserve more love. I will have to check out some of these.
ReplyDeleteI love screaming about those lesser known gems
DeleteSay Yes Summer is one that's been on my TBR for awhile!
ReplyDeleteThat book was pure fun and so sweet
DeleteI guess I need to check these out! Say Yes Summer is the only one I've read on here.
ReplyDeleteThis is YA heavy, but definitely all gems
DeleteIt is important to feature books that deserve praise and yet don't have quite the attention that the much hyped books get. I haven't read any on this list.
ReplyDeleteI was pretty sad to see some of the review numbers. I hope people not using GR read them, because they were all really wonderful books.
DeleteThanks for sharing all of these. I did read What I Like About Me and really enjoyed it.

It was a such a good book, and has me excited to read more from Guillaume.
DeleteThere's a few on the list I haven't heard of. A couple I wanted to read myself! And one that I had an ARC of, but couldn't get into so I did a trade on it. I love to hear about the ones that missed out on buzz! Especially the ones I wanted to read, War and Speech, and What I Like About Me. I did get that second one for my school library where I work, so I can read it some day maybe.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed both of Zolidis' books. His characters were fantastic and I like his humor.
DeleteI still need to read Little Universes!!!
ReplyDeleteDo it! It's so good. You read I'll Meet You There, right? Then you already know the havoc Demetrios can wreck with your emotions.
DeleteThis is a great list that you have here, I love seeing those underrated reads.
ReplyDeleteI love shouting about underrated reads.
DeleteI definitely need to try some of these!
ReplyDeleteIf you do, let me know.
DeleteI've only read How to Build a Heart from your list, which I loved, but several others are on my TBR. You're right though. I had forgotten about most of these because they haven't gotten much buzz at all. I really want to read What I Like About Me.
ReplyDeleteWhat I Like About Me was really wonderful. I am loving all the YA books from Australian authors.
DeleteI think Sensational by Jodie Lynn Zdrok should have been hyped up a lot more - both books in the duology actually.
ReplyDeleteI am not a huge historical reader, but the concept sounds great.
