It's time to celebrate my year in books. I will be spreading my favorites throughout a bunch of categories, but these are all favorites. For more of my favorites, check out my Five Star Friday posts. Today I will be sharing.....
Favorite Contemporary Romances!
I credit contemporary romances for keeping me sane this year. It's my favorite genre, by far, and I have yet to be let down by a good romance book. Whenever I am feeling a bit blah, I will reach for one of my romances, and my spirits are immediately lifted. These are a few of the romances, which were published this past year and really made a big impression on me. Each stood out in some way, but most of all, they made me feel a whole lot.
- Man Down by Kate Meader
- The Happy Ever After Playlist by Abby Jimenez
- The Girl Next Door by Emma Hart
- How to Fail at Flirting by Denise Williams
- Paris is Always a Good Idea by Jenn McKinlay
- The Twelve Dates of Christmas by Jenny Bayliss
- The Roommate by Rosie Danan
- Always Only You by Chloe Liese
- Your to Keep by Lauren Layne
- All About Us by Tom Ellen
Did you read any great romances this year?

Contemporary romance was my go-to this year! I loved All About Us, and Paris is Always a Good Idea is one I'm looking forward to!
ReplyDeleteBoth were so fantastic! I am so happy to hear you liked them too
DeleteI have an audio and e-copy of Man Down, I just need to carve out some time for it!
ReplyDeleteIt was a very emotional story (how could it not be!). I hope you get a chance to read or listen to it.
DeleteIm slowly reading Always Only You, I can't wait to finish it!
ReplyDeleteI just love this family so much! Hope you love it too
DeleteI also loved The Girl Next Door, The Roommate, and Yours to Keep! Great list!
ReplyDeleteYeah! I am looking forward to the next book in each of those series.
DeleteSo many great picks on here! I really want to read The Twelve Dates of Christmas!
ReplyDeleteIt's so a delightful and feel-good book. I hope you get to it
DeleteThere's one here that I've read (The Roommate) and a couple that I want to read. Like, Man Down, always Only You and All About Us. Hoopla has the audio of the Liese book so I'm excited for that!
ReplyDeleteI listened to Liese's book via Hoopla (though I own the ebook). I thought the narration was well done. Hope you get to listen to it
DeleteI want to read The Twelve Dates of Christmas at some point - it might be a post-Christmas read, but whatever! LOL

Lauren, if you need a fun, pick me up kind of read, read Twelve Dates. I read it months ago as an ARC, so it's good any time of the year.
DeleteI haven't read any of these, but Man Down sounds like one I might read! Thank you for sharing :D
ReplyDeleteMan Down was heartbreaking and beautiful
DeleteI've only read The 12 Dates of Christmas (and you know I loved that one) but several of the others are on my TBR so it makes me happy seeing them on your "best of" list!
ReplyDeleteThat book was such a gem. Definitely one I will continue to scream about
DeleteThese all look nice. Paris and the 12 Dates especially look good!
ReplyDeleteBoth were so fun and heartwarming
DeleteRomance takes me away to a good place, too. I haven't read any of your picks, but I do have the Abby Jimenez on my list. A few others have caught my eye. :)
ReplyDeleteJimenez's books both had me laughing and in tears. So good!
DeleteI have not read any of these, but lots of cute covers! I did read one adult contemporary romance this year (yes, just one, shhh) and I DID love it, Rachel Lynn Solomon's The Ex Talk which doesn't come out until next month but I highly recommend!
ReplyDeleteYes! I loved The Ex Talk. I am beyond happy that RLS has started writing rom-coms, because she is so good at it
DeleteThe Happy Ever After Playlist and Always Only You were both 5 star reads for me! Loved them so much.
ReplyDeleteAnd they earned each and every star. Both were so fantastic!
DeleteYou have a great list of contemporary romances here....many of which I do want to read. I have enjoyed Kate Meader in the past. And I have heard great things about Roommate.
ReplyDeleteGreat list and thanks for sharing.
I was so impressed by The Roommate. You don't read many romances set in the adult entertainment industry.
DeleteAgreed with The Roommate! It made me laugh and swoon!
ReplyDeleteThat book blew my mind. I never expected it to be so heartwarming.
DeleteI've just finished The Roommate and I loved it so much! I can't wait for Naomi's book. I hope I can get to The Twelve Dates of Christmas soon, I just haven't been in the mood for Christmas novels.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited that The Roommate is a series, and Naomi is a fantastic character! Can't wait to get to know her better. Twelve Dates is set at Christmas, but the holiday isn't the central focus. It was really heartwarming and fun.
DeleteWoo Hoo! I actually read a book that made your list. All About Us was a great read. I hope to read Happily Ever After Playlist sometime soon.
ReplyDeleteJimenez's books are so good. I cried a LOT during the first book and a bit during the second. They were both so beautiful.
