Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
I am combining CWW with Books From the Backlog hosted by Carole at Carole's Random Life in Books. This will allow me to feature some newly "rediscovered" books, which I plan on reading, alongside a new release.
This week I can't wait for:

From the moment Julie sees her best friend, Gavin, in the airport, it’s like no time at all has gone by instead of months and months. No matter how long they’ve been apart, their relationship has always been steady, comfortable, and decidedly just friends. Even though their meddling parents have hung what seems like unlimited amounts of mistletoe everywhere she goes this holiday season, Julie knows some things will never change. Why I want to read this book
Gavin is well-aware his family’s wanted him and Julie to get together since forever, even though he’s been friend-zoned since they could talk—and he’s been happy to play that role. After all, as the new starting quarterback for the San Antonio Mustangs, he’s got enough on his plate without adding romance to the mix.
But between playing elves in the holiday bazaar to nights spent one-on-one watching rom-coms or soaking in their town’s hot springs, suddenly the “reverse parent trap” they’ve fallen into is actually starting to work. But this could be one scheme where letting themselves get trapped might be way too dangerous.
I have been on a holiday book kick lately and was excited when I stumbled upon this book. I always enjoy Madsen's books, and this book seems to have many ingredients I love. Aside from the fact that friends-to-lovers is one of my favorite trope, I am also a bit giddy thinking about how fun the "reverse parent trap" thing can be. I am looking forward to watching these two fall in love as I enjoy all the holiday fare as well.

The Arizona Vengeance is killing it on the ice. But one player can’t seem to keep his eye on the puck—all thanks to the woman he just married to save her life. Why I want to read this book
“Find your next hockey hero in Sawyer Bennett’s Arizona Vengeance series.”—New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis
My name is Dax Monahan and hockey is my passion. And if you want to succeed in this sport you have to bust your ass 24/7. I’ve never had a hard time focusing on my career, but when my past comes knocking, no amount of training can prepare me for what lies on the other side of the door.
Regan Miles was always like a sister to me. When a shared tragedy brings us face to face after several years, I’m shocked to see just how much she’s changed. Gone is the shy, awkward little girl that always used to chase me and her brother around. Instead, I’m faced with a gorgeous woman who makes it damn hard to concentrate on anything but her.
Turns out, she’s in trouble, and the only way out is to get married.
I surprise myself when I tell her to marry me. Order her, actually. And most shocking of all, she doesn’t even hesitate before saying yes.
So it’s settled. We’re getting hitched and she’s moving to Arizona with me. All platonic, of course.
The catch?
I never knew I’d fall so hard for my best friend’s little sister.
This book isn't that old, but it's still been sitting on my shelf for over a year, and I am quickly falling behind on this series. When it comes to romance, hockey romances rank high on my list. I have no idea why, but I adore them. It's great too, because there are LOTS of hockey romances out there. Bennett is one of my go-tos for this genre, and I am never disappointed at the end of any of her books. This will surely be a solid read for me.
Okay, the reverse parent trap sound sooo cute! I hope the book lets you read some of Julie and Gavin when they are kids too! And I hope you enjoy Dax!
ReplyDeleteDax is so good. I devour hockey romance and it's just great to be back in this world. I love fauxmances, and the one in Mistletoe sounds great.
DeleteAww, the Mistletoe Trap sounds absolutely adorable, and I love that cover!
ReplyDeleteYes! I hope the book is as cute as that cover, because I love me some fun and cute romances.
DeleteMistletoe Trap sounds fun!
ReplyDeleteI feel like any sort of holiday themed book has to be fun
DeleteMistletoe Trap sounds perfect for the HoHoHoRAT... i love these adorkable kind of stories :)
ReplyDeleteMe too! The more adorkable, the better
DeleteI read an ARC of The Mistletoe Trap and really loved it. I hope you do, too!
ReplyDeleteI didn't request, because I had a lot of October ARCs and I have 19 for January, but I do hope I can get the audiobook at some point. It would be perfect. So glad to hear it was good
DeleteNice picks! Both are new to me ones. I hope you enjoy them once you get to read them!
ReplyDeleteHere's my WoW
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Thanks!
DeleteI'm looking forward to some holiday reads this year. :)
ReplyDeleteThey are really hitting the spot lately. Hope you find some great ones.
Delete"Reverse Parent Trap" sounds like it could be fun in that holiday book. Hope they're both great reads for you.
ReplyDeleteDax was great, as expected. I am trash for hockey romances. It was a pretty emotional story too with a focus on a rare blood illness. Added a lot of emotion with that.
DeleteI should get back to Sawyer's romance too Sam!!
ReplyDeleteIt was really moving. The heroine had this rare blood disease, which Bennett mentioned was modeled after one of her friends. Just knowing the real life connection had me invested
DeleteGreat picks! I'm also excited for The Mistletoe Trap. I got an ARC and can't wait to dive in. I love all things Sawyer Bennett but I am very behind on this series. Hope you get to read these beauties soon!

I *almost* requested, but I felt like I had too many review books. I hope it's fantastic! Dax was great. Probably one of my favorites.
