Five Star Friday: June 2020

On the first Friday of each month, I will share my five-star reads from the previous month. Fingers crossed, I have lots of books to tell you about.

In June, I read books 37. Though many were wonderful, only 4 earned the full 5-stars.

This is Our Story

Ashley Elston

Oddly enough, I discovered Elston via 10 Blind Dates, which is so different from this book. But I sure am glad I gave THIS IS OUR STORY a try, because I LOVED it! I was so engrossed in this tale and was such of fan of it all. The characters, the structure, the bit of romance, it all made this book stupendous for me.

Such a powerful story! Caletti did a incredible job pulling me into Annabelle's head, and I taking me through such a wide array of emotions. This was a story about reclaiming the power. Annabelle was a survivor, and this book chronicled her journey as she took back the things he stole from her. I found the book rather empowering and uplifting.

Today Tonight Tomorrow

Rachel Lynn Solomon

This book was simply outstanding. I have always admired Solomon's books, and this one was a special treat in that it left me filled with so much happiness. I had so much fun running all over Seattle as both Rowan did her farewell tour, but I also loved the idea of the new beginning she would be embarking on. I get giddy every time I think of this story, and I hope others will share my experience.

Liz Lightly is so wonderful, and it was such a special treat to get to know her. She was so easy to root for, and seeing good things come her way filled me with happiness. There was a wonderful focus on family and friendship with the addition of an adorable romance, which delighted me to no end. I was brimming with joy when I finished this story, and I cannot wait to read more of Johnson's books.
