My Week in Review
Well, spring is sprung, but the only hints of spring I am getting is an over production of mucus as things start blooming again. This upcoming week is the last week of March, and since it came in like a lion, I am hoping we go out like a lamb. Fingers crossed!
This week was such a blur. I got a lot of reading done, but I feel like I didn't do much else. There are no big plans on the horizon either.
Something I was excited to see....

I think my biggest surprise of the week was Finale. I didn't expect there to be ARCs, and then I got approved. My daughter was super excited too. You may be getting a review for that book from her, and she really is better at reviewing fantasy than I am.

What I Read Last Week
My reading is starting to outpace the number of book reviews I post on the blog, so you may be seeing more 4-star and higher rated books with links to Goodreads. Doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it, just means I don't have other books that fit well with the book for a review post.
I was really delighted with my first Plozza book, and must go back and read her debut. I am happy to report that the Geekerella sequel made me just as happy, and I am hoping Poston has more stories to tell in that world. Though I was a little worried about the JES book, I ended up really enjoying it.

What I Am Currently Reading
Just starting Scot, so I have nothing to say, though I believe me + this book = a good match
Just Kiss Me is pretty fun. I am intrigued by the strange history the hero and heroine share, and I feel like the hero's mother is hiding something important.
- Getting Hot with the Scot by Melonie Johnson
- Just Kiss Me by Rachel Gibson (audiobook)
What I Plan to Read
- The Girl He Used to Know by Tracey Garvis Graves
- The Becket List by Adele Griffin

- You'd Be Mine by Erin Hanh
How was your week?
Let us know in the comments!
I love spring, but not the allergies and colds that usually accompany it! Ugh. Hope you don't have too much trouble. And oh my gosh that cat! Too funny. I do think cats and bunnies make a cute pair, though, if they can get along. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the look of Past Perfect Life.
Right now, I am stuffy, but not sick. It's all about the nasal spray. How did we live without animal videos?
DeleteAwww, kittens and bunnies! My previous dogs loved to fetch, but my current dog fetches a lot like that cat. I hope you enjoy your new books. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Ha! I would love to see your dog playing fetch. Sounds hilarious.
DeleteThat cat video is hilarious! I hope spring is finally here to stay--the birds think so here anyway or maybe they are in denial. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty nice today. Not amazing, but almost 60. It's going down to 29 tonight though. I hate when it's cold in the morning when I walk to the bus. I refuse to put the parka back on.
DeleteMy week was super crazy this time around and I didn't get a lot of reading done. It was kind of exhausting and now the weekend is over already and I'm just ready for the following weekend for a break! Lol.
ReplyDeleteYay for getting Finale! I got that one too an am SUPER excited about it. Though I plan to do a reread of Caraval and Legendary but I'm thinking of doing it closer towards the end of April so I can be finished roughly before I meet Stephanie on tour!
I hope you enjoy all of your new reads! Have a GREAT week!
Here's my STS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
I just finished listening to Legendary the other day, but I have a ton of releases to read before I get to Finale. I am excited though, because things got really interesting in the last book. Hope you get to recharge this weekend.
DeleteWe're getting more rain and milder temperatures so it must be spring here! It wasn't a bad winter at all compared to the last few years.
ReplyDeleteWe really didn't get much snow this year, and I am not sad about it. I like warmer, but not hot. I hope we get a real spring this year and it doesn't just go from cold to hot.
DeleteBwahahaha that cat made me laugh so hard Sam! And the others are super cute. Have fun with Erin Hahn' story!
ReplyDeleteThat cat is a super star.
DeleteI feel like my allergies were really out of control this week! Looking forward to the weather warming up, though.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been crazy about the Caraval series, so I'm not sure if I'll ever read Finale, but if I got an ARC, I wouldn't say no to that!
I am aggressively doing my nasal spray, so I am better than last week, but I want to not be uncomfortable. I loved Caraval, and I liked the things that developed int he last book. I am interested in seeing how it ends.
DeleteI think that my headache this week that last two weeks was courtesy of sinus crap from all of the junk in the air. It's a shame that these things seem to come with the spring flowers. The cat video was funny! Lots of great new books this week, Sam. I hope you enjoy them all and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteMy sinuses are shot out by this. I am better than last week, but still constantly uncomfortable. That cat made my day.
DeleteSpring is trying to pop up, I'm so ready for it!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you for approved for Finale, I was surprised that the publisher had ARCs of the last book!
Right? I never expect ARCs for the last book in a series, especially a fairly hyped series, but I was happy to get it.
DeleteOh the cat and bunny match is so cute! Love cats and bunnies. The video is pretty funny, but poor cat. Maybe he has an inner issue? Ha.
ReplyDeleteNice to get books you're looking forward to, but wasn't expecting. Hope your daughter and you enjoy Finale! :)
My daughter and I send each other cute and funny pics/vids. That's how I know she is still alive.
DeleteI've been congested the past few days too and I know it's the pollen. I'll take it though because I'm so over winter and ready to start seeing things blooming. I'm glad to see those high marks for The Princess and the Fangirl. I got rejected for an ARC but can't wait to snag a copy once it comes out.
ReplyDeleteIt's like Mother Nature hates us! The payoff is nice, but I wish I felt better so I could fully enjoy the season. Boo for rejections! Sorry you didn't get it. Hopefully your library will get it.
DeleteMarch has flown by!! I'm currently reading You'd Be Mine so I hope you enjoy it! Also, omg I'm so jealous about your Rules We're Meant to Break arc—I'm so excited for this one!
ReplyDeleteSo far, the feed back for You'd Be Mine is good. It sort of checks all my boxes, so I am excited to read it.
DeleteSounds like we had the same kind of week. Lots of sinus things and lots of reading. I thought I was coming down with a cold but it's just all the pollen. My car looks green every morning!
ReplyDeleteSinuses are on my list of things that suck. My right side is narrow and causes me endless issues. Wow! You have some serious pollen going on in your parts. Our greenery is sort of just starting to come back, since it's been fairly cold. I don't think I am quite prepared for the full pollen attack.
DeleteOMG, You'd Be Mine has been on my shelf for so long. I should have read it. I still want to read it. I have the ARC!! Why haven't I? I am terrible. I so want to get Finale! I have read the first and hope to read the second on break. I have a lot of reading plans for my break. I hope they come true. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteMary
I had an ebook of Legendary, but ended up listening to the audio, because too many books, not enough time, and I thought the audio was well done. Not sure if you do audiobooks, but I love that I can get my stories "read" and do other things at the same time.
DeleteUgh, pollen is the worst. It's wreaking havoc down here, too. I've been on daily meds for years for various allergies and even with that I still feel the affects now and then. I finished The Girl He Used to Know last night and I LOVED IT. Seriously, that book just spoke to me on all kinds of levels. It was like one of those rare books of my heart. How in the world am I going to express that in a review? Gah!
ReplyDeleteNot sure how I felt about incorporating THAT event into the story, and the ending definitely left me wanting, but I loved everything else.
DeleteYeah, when it clicked with me where it was going I put the book down and told my husband, "I don't know about this." I was worried it would feel gimmicky and that it didn't need that brought into it. But once I read it, it actually worked for me. It was a catalyst for Annika to push herself outside her comfort zone and to be the one who was the strong support.
DeleteI'm really hoping my allergies won't act up as much as they did last year. They don't normally! I'm ready for the Spring weather though; now if only it would quit raining.

Lucky! I don't even test positive for any allergies, but suffer anyhow. --sigh--
DeleteThe pollen has been awful! But I'm excited about the warmer weather. :)
ReplyDeleteI guess we have to take the good with the bad.
