Rule #1 - Never fall for a summer boy.
Fresh out of high school, Babe Vogel should be thrilled to have the whole summer at her fingertips. She loves living in her lighthouse home in the sleepy Maine beach town of Oar’s Rest and being a barista at the Busy Bean, but she’s totally freaking out about how her life will change when her two best friends go to college in the fall. And when a reckless kiss causes all three of them to break up, she may lose them a lot sooner. On top of that, her ex-girlfriend is back in town, bringing with her a slew of memories, both good and bad.
And then there’s Levi Keller, the cute artist who’s spending all his free time at the coffee shop where she works. Levi’s from out of town, and even though Babe knows better than to fall for a tourist who will leave when summer ends, she can’t stop herself from wanting to know him. Can Babe keep her distance, or will she break the one rule she’s always had - to never fall for a summer boy?

Blog Tour: Dig by A.S. King
A.S. King
Genre: Young Adult, Magical Realism
Publisher: Dutton Books for Young Readers
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Goodreads
The Shoveler, the Freak, CanIHelpYou?, Loretta the Flea-Circus Ring Mistress, and First-Class Malcolm. These are the five teenagers lost in the Hemmings family's maze of tangled secrets. Only a generation removed from being simple Pennsylvania potato farmers, Gottfried and Marla Hemmings managed to trade digging spuds for developing subdivisions and now sit atop a seven-figure bank account, wealth they've declined to pass on to their adult children or their teenage grand children.
"Because we want them to thrive," Marla always says.
What does thriving look like? Like carrying a snow shovel everywhere. Like selling pot at the Arby's drive-thru window. Like a first class ticket to Jamiaca between cancer treatments. Like a flea-circus in a doublewide. Like the GPS coordinates to a mound of dirt in a New Jersey forest.
As the rot just beneath the surface of the Hemmings precious white suburban respectability begins to spread, the far flung grand children gradually find their ways back to each other, just in time to uncover the terrible cost of maintaining the family name.

Top Ten Tuesday: My Spring TBR - Adult Edition
My Spring TBR (Adult Edition)!
Last week I shared 10 YA books from my spring TBR, which I believed would garner high ratings from me. However, I tend to read across ages, and also have a ton of adult books on my TBR, and I want to show those books the same amount of love as my YA babies.

Top Ten Tuesday: Welcome, Spring!
It's been one crazy winter, and I know that I am looking forward to most of the things that arrive with spring. I look forward to the longer and warmer days, and all the green popping up around us. I could do without the allergies, but sometimes you have to take the good with the bad. I am also looking forward to many, many spring 2019 book releases. I have a gazillion books I want to read this spring, so narrowing it down was tough, but I think I selected books, that will be 5-star reads for me.

Discussion: The Pros and Cons of Rejection
This Week’s Topic: The Pros and Cons of Rejection
Rejection is a natural part of life. You put yourself out there, you ask, and sometimes, the answer is no. Today I want to talk about those review request rejections, and how they can be bad AND good.

Top Ten Tuesday: May I Have Some More?
May I Have Some More?
This week we are talking about standalone books, that we wish had a sequel. I am a BIG contemporary reader, so most of the books on my read-shelf are standalones, and these sequels I am envisioning went one of two ways. Some of these stories had room to grow, or I just hated the ending. I would love to continue the story from the first book, but others would spawn companions, which feature other characters from that world. As always, my list is made up of books I loved and read within the past year.

Top Ten Tuesday: Why Can't I Be You?
Why Can't I Be You!
Have you ever read a book, and wished that you could do a Freaky Friday thing with that character? Though I have yet to find a character with a perfect life, I have encountered quite a few with perks I would love to enjoy. These are all books I have read over the past year, which I really enjoyed, and found myself envying some aspect of the main character's life.

Discussion: Blogger Shame
There are so many things I believe I need to do, that it's my duty as a blogger, but you know -- tempus fugit. Time is always the independent variable, and the clock keeps running even if I don't get to everything I should. These are some things I feel bad about and some things I do to atone for my guilt.
