Dark secrets and forbidden love threaten the very survival of the Shadowhunters in Cassandra Clare’s Queen of Air and Darkness, the final novel in the #1 New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling The Dark Artifices trilogy.I am so entrenched in the Shadow world, I will always want to read a Shadowhunters' book. But my need for this book goes deeper. First of all, it's the last book in this series, and I am hoping that some of the chaos that has defined this series gets resolved in some awesome way in the final book. Seriously, something big and painful happened in the previous book, and I have be dying to know how Clare was going to make it worth the pain.
What if damnation is the price of true love?
Innocent blood has been spilled on the steps of the Council Hall, the sacred stronghold of the Shadowhunters. In the wake of the tragic death of Livia Blackthorn, the Clave teeters on the brink of civil war. One fragment of the Blackthorn family flees to Los Angeles, seeking to discover the source of the blight that is destroying the race of warlocks.
Meanwhile, Julian and Emma take desperate measures to put their forbidden love aside and undertake a perilous mission to Faerie to retrieve the Black Volume of the Dead. What they find in the Courts is a secret that may tear the Shadow World asunder and open a dark path into a future they could never have imagined. Caught in a race against time, Emma and Julian must save the world of Shadowhunters before the deadly power of the parabatai curse destroys them and everyone they love.
What are you waiting on?
Let us know in the comments!
Do you watch the show? Y BFF does and loves it, and talks about the books sometimes, but I've never quite got into either. It sounds very cool though and I hope the pay off is worth it!
ReplyDeleteI do watch the show, and I am sad it got canceled right when it was getting good
DeleteYES
ReplyDeleteNeed it like air! (Pun totally intended!)
Love it! 😂
DeleteOH YESSSSSSSSSS! This is the same with me Sam! She is my N°1 most expected by the end of this year followed by SJM! Then begin next year will be the Wicked King by Holly Black ;-) Sophie @bewareofthereader
ReplyDeleteI need to catch up on ToG, and then say goodbye to that series too 😪
DeleteYou know, I've never actually read anything by Cassie Clare. I hope this is a good one for you though!!!

I feel like people are either fans or they're not.
DeleteI'm kind of maxed out on her books and decided to stop but I do get what is so compelling about them!
ReplyDeleteJen Ryland Reviews
I am in too deep to stop, and I still enjoy them.
DeleteI feel so left out of the Shadowhunters world because I tried to get into the first Mortal Instruments book a long time ago and it just wasn't for me. This cover is so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI can understand it not being for everyone, but my co-bloggers were big fans, and got me into the world
DeleteI have the first book in this series on my bookshelf. I am so excited about this series, but I just can't commit to the amount of time it will take to read these humungous books. I hope that you enjoy this instalment. :)
ReplyDeleteThe first two books ending by breaking my heart, so I am hoping this one makes me happy.
DeleteThis is the second book by hr I've come across today. I'm almost embarrassed to admit I have a couple of her books and haven't read them yet!
ReplyDeleteI have lots of books I have not read (yet?). You know us readers, buy all the books and read them someday.
DeleteIt's been a long time since I picked up CC. Glad to hear you're enjoying the series, and I hope the last book lives up to expectations! :)
ReplyDeleteShe really assembled a great group of characters, and I liked the way she utilized characters from the other two series.
DeleteI haven't read Cassandra Clare in years, but if this series is only three books, I might pick it up!
ReplyDeleteTDA and TID are both only 3 books. Not sure how TMI became 6, but I was pleased with the ending she gave that series, and that those characters continue to pop up in TDA.
DeleteI have only read one of this author's books. I really need to give her another try. I hope you love this one, Sam!
ReplyDeleteI know some people are not big fans, but I will say, that her writing gets better and better with each book. The TDI books are amongst my favorites, so if you like paranormal with a steampunk touch, you might want to try those books.
DeleteI think the TV networks always jump the gun in cancelling shows too early. It's got to the stage where I don't watch any US produced show that interests me until it has completed at least two seasons! Too many get cancelled just as they are hitting their stride!
ReplyDeleteI really don't adopt too many new shows, especially serials, because they get canceled right when they start getting really good.
DeleteI still need to read the first book!
ReplyDeleteI like this series. Mostly because the characters are so awesome
DeleteOooh, nice one. I'm reading my first Cassandra Clare book right now and am really loving it!
ReplyDeleteWhich book are you reading? I enjoyed all three series, and am really excited that she will be doing an adult series.
DeleteSuch a gorgeous cover. Hope this one ends up being a good one!
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling Clare will come up with some interesting resolution.
