My Fall TBR!
Fall is one of my favorite seasons, and I will welcome it with open arms! Since my 2018 review books are dwindling, I plan to read all the unreleased books, as well as circling back for some releases I missed and a few older titles that have been on my TBR for a long while.
Samantha Young is one of those "required reading" authors when it comes to romance. I have been meaning to read On Dublin Street for years, and am excited to finally read a book by Young. This book sounds like a fun hate-to-love story, and one that I would really enjoy.
Mental health books are always of interest to me, and couple that with a series of emotional gut punches, and I'm in.
This one caught my eye, when I saw it featured by several bloggers for Can't-Wait Wednesday. I get a little warm and fuzzy just imagining the heroine searching for over a year for the hero. I love this stuff!
Did someone say rom-com? Sign me up! YA authors have been delivering some great rom-coms lately, and I am really excited about this one. I am already anticipating the happy feels.
I really enjoyed Barrow's debut, and I trust that her exploration of this female friendship will be interesting, thought provoking, and emotional.
This was one of my own Can't-Wait Wednesday picks, and I was all over it, because I love friendship stories. Not only does this hold the promise of an interesting friendship dynamic, but it sounds like some coming-of-age will be happening as well.
Stevens impressed me with Dress Codes for Small Towns, and I cannot wait to read more of her work. This story sounds really powerful and emotional, and I know she can deliver it in spades.
A hero, who is dealing with great emotional pain is always something that can work really well for me in a romance, and I believe I saw this one referred to as "swoony" as well, which IS my favorite kind of romance.
Higgins is spoken highly of for her paranormal work, and I was therefore very interested in reading her upcoming contemporary book. It sounds like we have a down-with-love-heroine, and I am interested in seeing how her journey ends.
Honestly, this is probably my MOST anticipated fall release. I have nothing but love in my heart for this series, and though I am sad that it is ending, I am eager to see our final heroine get her HEA.
One Day in December sounds great- kind of reminds me of the movie Serendipity (which I love).
ReplyDeleteIt totally does sound like th as t. If the book is anything like that movie, I will definitely enjoy it
DeleteHow did I miss a new Courtney Stevens book?!? Adding that to my TBR now. The rest look good and are mostly new to me. Hope you enjoy them all!
ReplyDeleteThe new Stevens sounds a lot heavier than her last book, but I am really intrigued by the premise.
DeleteMy list is mostly horror with bits of SF, fantasy, urban fantasy and apocalypse thrown in! My winter tbr is going to be a lot more varied and I've planned my upcoming reads right through to April!
ReplyDeleteI am such a solid contemporary reader, but there are a bunch of SFF sequels coming out I want to read: the last ToG and TDA books and Wildcard are a few that pop immediately into my head.
DeleteYes, Imagine Us Happy does sound like a wonderful story.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Wonder and really emotional. I can't wait!
DeleteI feel like the cover for Imagine Us happy lol Wonderful list Sam, so many I didn't know!
ReplyDeleteYou know I read the blurb because of the cover.
DeleteOne Day in December sounds really good! I also really like your fall foliage graphic - I can' wait for the leaves to start changing!
ReplyDeleteI thought I read about December on your blog, but I guess it was someone else's. It sounds like something I would love
DeleteOoh! I read an ARC of One Day in December and LOVED it. It's so unique, happening over years instead of a short period of time. It adds so much to the story compared to a romantic novel that's set in a couple of months. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you love it as well!
Here's my TTT should you be interested:

Glad to hear December was good. I think I saw it as someone's WoW and had to request it.
DeleteI read an ARC of Kind of an Epic Love Story and it's so cute, and I just loved it! I hope you enjoy it too. :) Most of my review books are for October, so I should hopefully be able to read a lot of backlist books this fall too.

Yeah! I love cute!
DeleteI haven’t heard of any of these, but I hope they’re good!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Me too. I read pretty close to publication and there are some reviews out there. Some of the reviews are scaring me, but I am trying to keep an open mind
DeleteOhhh The Resolutions is definitely on my MUST list for this year!! Great list-- I defintiely will check out some of these romancey books for when I'm in the mood for that!!
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping The Resolutions is as good as I think it will be
DeleteI think I'll be adding This is Kind of an Epic Love Story to my own TBR. I'm a sucker for rom-coms :D Hope you enjoy these!
ReplyDeleteHere's my TTT.
Doesn't it sound like it will be all sorts of adorable? And I am elated about all the fabulous rom-coms we have been getting lately
DeleteOnce again I haven’t heard of any of these and I love YA contemporary. I haven’t been reading much of it lately and it shows. I hope you get to, and enjoy, each of these.
ReplyDeleteThese are my sure thing reads. I am hoping they all live up to the hype in my head
DeleteI haven't heard about a lot of these books, but they all sound super interesting! I recently read Fight or Flight, and really enjoyed it. It was my first Samantha Young book, and now I want to read more!
ReplyDeleteIt will be my first Samantha Young book too, and yeah! I am happy to hear it was good
DeleteI keep seeing The Resolutions today on everyone's TTT posts! Looks like I have another book to add to my goodreads list! :) I'm also looking forward to Fight or Flight. I love a good hate to love romance, and it sounds really fun!
ReplyDeleteGenni @ Ready, Set, Read!
I am hoping Fight or Flight is a good rom-com, because I have been loving them lately
DeleteThis Is What It Feels Like looks like something I'd enjoy. Got to make sure it's on my TBR...
ReplyDeleteI like Barrow's debut. She has no fear when tackling touchy topics, and I am interested in seeing how she takes on complicated female friendships
DeleteNice picks! All totally new to me ones! Hope you get to read all of them this fall!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Thanks!
DeleteI didn't know Wendy Higgins was writing a contemporary. Hope you enjoy it---and all these other reads too!
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
I was surprised when I first heard about it. Sounds like my speed though
DeleteImagine Us Happy is one that I'd like to read as well. There have been so many good books lately that have dealt with mental health and this sounds like it's going to be another strong read.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like it takes on a lot of things, so I a eager to see how Yu handles it.
DeleteThese all look so good! I don't read much contemporary, but One Day In December looks adorable and I might have to pick it up!
ReplyDeleteDecember was someone's WoW, and I just knew I had to read it.
DeleteThe Resolutions and Four Three Two One are also on my Fall TBR! You know, if I actually made one, but I digress hah. Dare to Fall actually looks really good too, I might need to add that to my list! (Also, did you see how pretty the UK cover is!? If I get it, that is the one I need!) Great list, hope you enjoy them all!
ReplyDeleteI tend to like UK covers better. Uk covers and English pop music from the 80s - these are a few of my favorite things
DeleteOkay, I just added 4 3 2 1 and Imagine Us Happy to my wish list. I think you read more contemporary than I do, but I do enjoy a good one from time to time.
ReplyDeleteI really only read contemporaries. I dabble in the other genres
DeleteI haven't encountered any of these titles before, since I don't read a lot of contemporary (with the exception of some small-town romance series.) But I hope you get the chance to enjoy them all!
ReplyDeleteI love small town romances
DeleteI have This Is An Epic Kind of Love Story so that's on my list as well. There are SO many great fall books coming up!
ReplyDeleteKaren @ For What It's Worth
Love Story looks so cute, and I have heard good things too. I'm excited
DeleteI'm so excited for One Day in December. The whole premise is right up my alley so I have high hopes. :)
ReplyDeleteI know!!! I am giddy about it
DeleteDare to fall is already on my shelf and signed by the author! I was lucky to meet her at YALC and buy her last book. Great list Sam! Sophie @bewareofthereader
ReplyDeleteThat's really awesome. I hope we both like it
DeleteGreat list, Sam! I'm really looking forward to reading This is What it Feels Like and Imagine Us Happy! They sound pretty awesome. I liked but didn't completely enjoy Four Weeks, Five People, which Imagine Us Happy is a companion prequel to, but I'm hoping I enjoy this better as there's only one narrator! And I'm really looking forward to learning more about how her relationship affected her before she ended up at the mental illness camp in 4W,5P. I also really want to read You Don't Know Me But I Know You, too! There are just too many awesome books to read!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize it was a prequel. Good to know. Barrow's debut was really emotional. Stories of that nature always are
DeleteThese are all new to me. I hope you like Best of Luck... I always like it when the characters get their happily ever after :-).
ReplyDeleteI heard Best of Luck was fantastic and the best of the series
DeleteMecha Samurai Empire, Light of the World and Shatter the Sun are my three arcs for October. You have some great books n your fall TBR. One Day in December looks especially good. Thanks for sharin* Sam! ❤️ 🍂 ❤️
ReplyDeleteI am not familiar with any of those titles. Is Shatter the Suns part of a series? I hope they are all wonderful, and I totally have high hopes for One Day in December.
DeleteONE DAY IN DECEMBER does sound warm and fuzzy! Your other picks sound good, too. I haven't read any of them, but a few of them are already on my TBR list.
ReplyDeleteI am reading December this week, so we'll know shortly if it lives up to the hype in my head.
DeleteSo many books to read so little time. I only have a couple of these on my TBR already and that's Fight or Flight and Best of Luck (although I really need to read the rest of the series first before hopping in to book 3). One Day in December looks cute and it's 99p for me on Kindle so I might just treat myself, I'm off to check out reviews.
ReplyDeleteThe Luck books are companions, so you don't HAVE to read the others, but I will say, they were both great.
DeleteOooh this looks like a great TBR, Sam. I don't know how but you've seemed to collect all the contemporaries that look like they are perfect fall reads. Wonderful picks, and hope you enjoy! :)
ReplyDeleteI am so deeply entrenched in the contemporary book world. I pour over the synopses and search for all the best fits for me. I am excited about every book on that list.
