This week I can't wait for The Curses by Laure Eve!
Laure Eve
Series: The Graces, #2
Release Date: January 9, 2018
Release Date: January 9, 2018
Publisher: Amulet Books
Waited on by: Sam and Kiersten
Picking up the pieces after the chilling events of the previous year isn’t easy, but the Graces are determined to do it. Wolf is back after a mysterious disappearance, and everyone’s eager to return to normal. Except for Summer, the youngest Grace. Summer has a knack for discovering the truth—and something is troubling her. After a trail of clues leads her to what could be the key to both her family’s mysterious past and the secret of Wolf, she’s determined to vanquish yet another curse. But exposing secrets is a dangerous game, and it’s not one Summer can win alone. Both Kiersten and I were fans of the first book in this series, The Graces, and can't wait for the sequel. The Graces were a rather mysterious family who were reminiscent of the Cullen family. I loved the atmosphere, mystery, and mysticism of their world, but the real mystery was River. She wormed her way into the Graces' inner circle, but she fell from their good graces. Then there was the ending! I am really eager to find out what precipitated from those final actions.
At Summer’s behest, the coven comes back together, reluctantly drawing their erstwhile friend River back into the fold. But Wolf’s behavior becomes unpredictable even as Fenrin’s strength fades, and Summer must ask herself whether the friend she so loves is also planning her family’s ultimate, cursed demise.
This riveting sequel to The Graces is saturated with magic, the destructive cost of power, the complications of family, and the nature of forgiveness.

Let us know in the comments!
I haven't yet gotten around to Graces, but the family angle sounds good and it's quite some time since I saw that in books! Thanks for bringing this series on my radar, Sam! xx
ReplyDeleteI read the first book back in May 2016, and I feel like a black sheep on this one, but I really liked the first book, which surprised even me, as I do lean more light and fluffy. There was just something about it that called to my inner teen-self, the one who wore Doc Martens and all black.
DeleteHmm...I've never heard of this series before, but it sounds interesting! Great pick!

It's a little darker story with undertones of The Craft. I really liked it.
DeleteWait, The Graces was a series??? I didn't realise at all!
ReplyDeleteThe first book ended just as soon as I was starting to get some answers to my questions. I am pretty excited to get a return visit to that world, and hopefully, lots of answers.
DeleteOooh this sounds awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI am eager to see where the story goes.
DeleteI have not heard of this series! You absolutely piqued my interest by mentioning the Cullens though. lol
ReplyDeleteMy co-blogger pointed the Cullen thing out to me, and I had to agree with her.
DeleteNever heard of that book or the author before. Sounds very intriguing. Hope you´ll enjoy your pick.
ReplyDeleteMy Pick
Best wishes

The first book was a solid, atmospheric paranormal read, and I am curious to see where it goes, because the ending of the Graces was quite jarring.
DeleteI just grabbed the first one from my library and hope to get it read sometime this month (or early January). I've heard great things and love paranormal books but I'm worried about the Cullen reference - not a Twilight fan.
ReplyDeleteIt's not Twilighty. The family just has that Cullenesque coolness and insular tendency. I hope you like it!
DeleteI haven't read the first book of this series, although there is a lot of blurb surrounding it. I think I may have to take a look at The Graces.
ReplyDeleteHappy readings! ;)

I feel like this series is under appreciated, but I enjoyed my time in this world.
DeleteWow, how did I miss the first book of this series! Cuz, this sounds amazing! Great pick...

You probably missed it, because I am a black sheep on this one.
DeleteI haven't read this book, but I love that you have compared it to a Cullen. I need to check out this series.
ReplyDeleteI have to give credit where credit is due, my co-blogger name dropped the Cullens, and she is more qualified than me to make that assessment, so I trust her.
DeleteGraces sound like such an interesting series!
ReplyDeleteI was really intrigued by the characters, and I really want to continue the story.
DeleteNice! Sadly couldn't get into the Graces but hope you will thoroughly enjoy this sequel!

Have a GREAT day!

People were really polarized on the book, but I really liked it.
DeleteI still haven't read the first book yet but it does sound like a great series.
ReplyDeleteI really liked it, and I was frustrated when it was delayed, but now it looks like it's on for good.
DeleteI read it back in 2016. It was mysterious and I found the characters quite interesting. Then there is the witchy part too.
ReplyDeleteI really need to get reading the first book in this series! I have heard so many great things. I hope that you enjoy this next book as well. :)
ReplyDeleteIf you ever get the opportunity, I hope you like it.
DeleteAhhh! I got an ARC of book one but never read it because it didn't seem to catch my interest. :/ I do love the covers of the series though. I hope you enjoy this book when you get the chance to read it!
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic week, Sam. =)

I am just excited to get some answers.
DeleteOMG!! "Reminiscent of the Cullen family"? That's about all I need to know!! I MUST get this book, as well as the previous one!! What a GREAT pick, Sam!! The plot sounds SO intriguing, too!! Thanks for putting this book on my radar!!
ReplyDeleteThanks as well for commenting on my CWW post!! <3 :)
I definitely agree with Kiersten about the Cullen vibes. They have that air of mystery and the way everyone gravitates to them is similar too.
DeleteThis series sounds like something that I might like. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice change of pace for me, since I don't normally read a lot of paranormals, and am curious to see where Eve goes with the story.
DeleteI still need to read the first one. The covers are so great for these. Good to hear the first one was worth it. I need to get to it soon I guess! Thanks for visiting my CWW on Lisa Loves Literature earlier this week.
ReplyDeleteWhoever did the covers, did an incredible job. They are very aesthetically pleasing.
