My Week in Review
Happy Sunday! April seems to be getting a weird start. The weather has been all over the place. Just going with the flow. The days have all been blurring together. I really cannot wait until my trip in May. I need a little something different to break up the monotony of life.
Not much to tell. I really have not been doing much other than going to work and reading, but last Tuesday was frustrating to me. I am too gullible for April Fool's Day. I kept sending things to my daughter, just to have her tell me it was fake. I need to hibernate on that day next year.

There were a few bargains on Amazon - one free, one reduced price. I had been wanting to read something from that Moore series, so I was happy to one-click for $0.99. I haven't read too many rowing romances.
I also got approved for Matthew Norman's new book. I absolutely LOVED Charm City Rocks and cannot wait to read his latest release. I had to click the new Allison Ashley when I saw it Read Now. I always enjoy her books.
I got an invite for the new Ivy Fairbanks which I already had a ARC of. I adored Morbidly Yours and am eager to return to Galway.

Read Last Week
April is getting off to a slow start. Most of the books were solid, but no 5-star reads. Tell Me How You Really Feel was my highest rated. Cayouette's debut was a big hit for me, and I was happy to find no sophomore slump here. This was a friends-to-lovers story about college friends who start a podcast together. There's a lot of commentary about the pay-gap and the double standard women face, but it was this couple that I really loved. The heroine had an interesting dynamic with her sisters too, and all in all, it was a great romance.

You will be cruising soon Sam! Also that video with the cats is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteSeptember seems forever away! Cats always make me laugh.
DeleteSame with the weather here. Yesterday was beautiful though so I tried to take full advantage before today's rain.
ReplyDeleteMay isn't toooo far away!
April is taking its shower job seriously this year for sure. Hope you had a great time soaking up the sun
DeleteThe weather here has been crazy too. You will be off on a vacation soon.
ReplyDeleteMy trip will be a short one (Sat - Tues), but I know it will be a good one.
DeleteA trip to look forward to is always good for the soul. I always love your Instagram shares!
ReplyDeleteI agree. Everyone needs a getaway. So glad you enjoy the shares. IG is my rabbit hole with all the fun animal reels.
DeleteHow is it still raining? But it's always nice to have vacations to look forward to, it'll be here before you know it!
ReplyDeleteThe rain was nuts last week, but at least it wasn't below freezing when I went to work. All I am asking for is above 40 in the morning.
DeleteI've had a bit of an interesting start to the month, too. I got a promotion recently, which has caused me to relocate work locations and added a bit to my commute. There's more audiobook time, which is nice, but I'm still adjusting to the longer drive every day.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I hope the bump is worth the commute. The bonus is definitely listening to your audiobooks as you drive. I love that kind of multitasking. Like the new picture!
DeleteApril has gotten off to a weird start but maybe that's because I just got back from my hols and my head feels stick in that space between craving to still be on holiday and being forced back into productivity. It has also been a drag coming back to such intense humid heat after the chilly temps in Japan! 🫣 That cover for Heart Strings is amazing and makes me want to pick it up immediately. I have the author's debut on my TBR and I can't wait to check it out. Fundamentals in Flirting has come on my recommendations list a lot lately but again, I keep passing over it. How are you finding it? I hope you find the 5-stars in your reads this week!
ReplyDeleteI thought Fundamentals of Flirting was fun and cute. I was surprised by the low overall rating. I loved the first book in Fairbanks series, and I am sure Heart Strings will be great as well. It's always sad when a great trip ends (you did some fantastic things!). Hope you are getting back into the swing of things.
