My Week in Review
Happy Sunday! Seems this is the last Sunday in March. I didn't do much this month, but it sure went fast. Not much to report.
I had Friday off, though I didn't accomplish as much as I wanted to. I got a call from the doctor's office canceling my appointment, and them saying they could get me in the day before. I had this appointment for almost two months. I made other appointments for that day. I find it amazing that doctor's offices think you can just stop by whenever for well visits. The thing that bothered me most. The original appointment was for the 27th. They called me about a week after I made that appointment to change it to the 28th. Then they call me to change it back to the 27th. I was not happy.
I did get my hair cut. It's a little shorter than I wanted, but it will grow back. I don't tend to get too worked up about the length. I will just have trim next time.
Saturday was over 80 here. Crazy! It was supposed to be much cooler today but the rain was later than expected. I am happy with 60 - 70. Not really ready for those 80+ days yet (or ever).
OMG! You know how I always tell you about the pigeons. Well, I came off the train Wednesday to find three of them having a party on my car roof. I tried to get them to fly away, but they would not budge. When I looked, it seems they had not "bombed" my car. Well, that all changed once I started moving. They must have been quite scared even though I was going slow. So, yeah, went for a car wash on Friday to take care of that. I should really get a rebate on my monthly parking with all the money I am spending on car washes.

Stacking the Shelves
I got a lot of invites this week. The best one was for the new Kate Spencer book. I actually had a pending Netgalley request for that book, so I immediately downloaded it. I loved both her books, and this one sounds like it will be a fun one. The rest were new to me, but Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea looks interesting. I have to check my schedule to see if it could fit.

Read Last Week
Do you know I read four of my Can't Wait Wednesday picks this week? Even I was impressed. I liked all of them, with First-Time Caller being the clear favorite. It was fun and sweet and touching. I laughed out loud so many times, but I also "awe-shucks" quite a bit too. There was an interesting family dynamic which I thought added something different and special to the story as well.

Currently Reading
I am just starting these books, so I don't have much to say. I have enjoyed Lipman's books in the past, so I am looking forward to Every Tom, Dick, & Harry. Burns is new-to-me, but I cannot resist a book with a cute pup on the cover. I need an animal book for two of my April reading prompts as well, so this will help me check those off.
- Every Tom, Dick, & Harry by Elinor Lipman
- Home is Where Your Bark Is by Debbie Burns
To Be Read
- There's Something About Merry by Codi Hall
- So Late in the Day by Claire Keegan
- Time Loops & Meet Cutes by Jackie Lau

I also had Friday off! I’ve never had a doctors office treat me that way. I’m sorry but I did laugh a little about the pigeons. Glad you were able to get the car cleaned right away. Good books! Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteThose pigeons! You are going to read about me being jailed for pigeon-cide. They are the bane of my existence. The car wash never gets the "drippings" from the side of my car. I am hoping the rain got the rest off, otherwise I will have to go out there with a bucket and a rag. Ewww
DeleteThe doctor appointment thing sure is annoying, especially since they ended up reverting to the date they made you change in the first place.
ReplyDelete"Not really ready for those 80+ days yet (or ever)."
Amen and amen...
"Well, I came off the train Wednesday to find three of them having a party on my car roof."
A party LOL. It's funny how you didn't manage to scare them away until you started the car...well, not so funny for you 😬.
So many invites!
I am telling you, they are gangster pigeons that inhabit the parking deck. They stare me down and exert dominance every time I enter. They have even blocked my exit. It's unsettling.
DeletePigeons freak me out. I can't imagine tough pigeon-I would have just walked home. Sorry about your doctor appointment. I hate when they do that!
ReplyDeleteThese are thug pigeons too. I fear them.
DeleteI have two doctors appointment this week and another one in two weeks and I would be very upset if they cancelled and changed the date so I can totally relate Sam!
ReplyDeleteIt was more annoying that they were trying to reschedule for the first date they changed. I am over it and going somewhere else.
DeleteI'd be annoyed by the doctor's office switcharoo, too. It's a little soon for temps in the 80s. We had a couple of days like that last week, but now it's raining again and cold for the next few days. I need to finish First-Time Caller.
ReplyDeleteIt's was pretty warm again today but cloudy and I was at work all day, so it didn't matter. Yes! You do need to finish First-Time Caller. It was fun and sweet and touching. I really liked it.
DeleteUgh, doctor's offices! Henry had a dentist appointment and they called to see if we could come in an hour earlier than our appointment time, which basically ended up being like right that moment. Good thing we were home and could go!
ReplyDeleteYes, of course you could just drop everything you are doing for them. Do they think people don't have lives and are just sitting by the phone waiting for them to call and change their appointment.
DeleteThere are a lot of pigeons around here too.
ReplyDeleteI hate when the doctors offices do that. It was in the 80's here for a few days too.
The doctors can be really rude. My favorite is how they can make you wait for an hour or more in the waiting room, but if you are 15 minutes late, they cancel your appointment and charge you a $50 fee. Seems fair.
