Full Sentences, Please!
This week's topic was kind of fun. I had to look through my read-shelf and find those books with titles were also full and complete sentences. A complete sentence has three things - a subject, a verb, and an object, and I found quite a few of those without even doing a deep dive. The following list is made of books I read in 2021 and really enjoyed.
- How to Become a Planet by Nicole Melleby
- Lucy Clark Will Not Apologize by Margo Rabb
- Please Don't Hug Me by Kay Kerr
- Excuse Me While I Ugly Cry by Joya Goffney
- Everyone Dies Famous in a Small Town by Bonnie-Sue Hitchcock
- Where the Road Leads Us by Robin Reul
- Rain is Not My Indian Name by Cynthia Leitch Smith
- Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Jumper by Debbie Johnson
- 52 Reasons to Hate My Father by Jessica Brody
- Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert

I love the title Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Jumper! I need to find out if the story would appeal to me. Fun TTT!
ReplyDeleteI bought the book because of that title, and I have to say, the book lived up to its delightful name. Lots of fun. It was adapted for a Hallmark movie, though, they changed a LOT. The book was better.
DeleteYou seemed to breeze through this week's topic. :) Apparently the books I read all come with short fragments as titles. LOL
ReplyDeleteI was surprised at how easy this one was for me. The single word title topic was so much harder.
DeleteExcuse Me While I Ugly Cry - ha, that's a good one!
ReplyDeleteGreat title, and it was a cute story too.
DeleteOh wow this is interesting! I would have never come up with these. I saw the prompt and went blank lol
ReplyDeleteGenesis @ Whispering Chapters
I just go through my read-shelf on Goodreads. I was surprised by how many books fit the prompt.
DeleteI love all the bold colors on your picks to match those fun titles!
ReplyDeleteThey are a pretty bunch
DeleteI feel like I also read a lot of these sentence title books. I feel like they are more common in YA and women's fiction, though I haven't done a scientific study
ReplyDeleteI know I had a ton on my read-shelf, so there may be some truth to your theory
DeleteI love seeing all the titles you picked! I didn't realize there were so many that could be complete sentences. Our lists are completely different.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised how easy this topic was based on my read-list, because I struggled with the single word titles.
DeleteYou found some good ones! Excuse Me While I Ugly Cry is on my wish list.

That book was good. I hope you get to read it.
DeleteLucy Clark sounds interesting, and Everyone came immediately to mind when I saw the topic- then I forgot to use it!
ReplyDeleteLucy Clark was a wonderful surprise for me. It far exceeded my expectations.
DeleteThese are great! I think “please don’t hug me” is the title of my memoir.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
That book was so good. It was an own voices book featuring a character with ADS. At the end of the book, she starts a blog, and that was one of her blog posts.
DeleteThese are brilliant!! And I can't go past 52 Reasons to hate my father, especially with that heel on the cover!
ReplyDeleteThat was fun book, and it ended up being a really sweet story
DeleteI haven't read any of these, although I have read some of these authors before. Love your choices!
ReplyDeleteThat surprises, because you read a mix of romance and YA. They are all great, if you are looking for anything to read.
DeleteYou nailed this Sam! I had no idea how to do this one as I seemed to have no book with ful sentences!
ReplyDeleteI was surprised myself. I knew I had some, but I really had a lot of full sentence titles on my read-shelf
DeleteHaha! I love Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Jumper. I hadn't heard of that book. Great choices this week!
ReplyDeleteI bought that book solely based on the title, and it was as fun as its name
DeleteThese are fun! I was actually inspired by this to write on my blog for the first time in four months. I really want to read the Bonnie Sue Hitchcock.
ReplyDeleteThe Hitchcock book was so good. I am not always a fan of anthologies and I am not super pumped about bleak books, but I loved it.
DeleteWe have LUCY CLARK in common. I now realize that I saw the book mentioned on your blog and put it on my TBR pile because of your recommendation. I'm going to go back and credit you in my post :)
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT (on a Thursday)!
I am glad I convinced you to give Lucy Clark a look. I enjoyed meeting her and her crew.
DeleteAct Your Age, Eve Brown made my list this week too. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the titles for all the books in that series.
DeleteI love Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Jumper for a book title! I'll need to grab a copy and see if the book loves up to it. :)
