My Week in Review
Holy cow! It's November!
We are having some incredible weather in these parts. High 60s to low 70s during the day. I am so happy I get to use my outside "office" again.
I actually did something fun. I had taken Thursday off, and my sister came by since it was my father's birthday. She mentioned going to the Outlets, so I tagged along. It was good. I found two pairs of shoes for my dad at Clark's (BOGO), and we went and had a nice outdoor lunch at this place, MJ's, which has great thin crust pizza. It had been years since I had been to either place, and I rarely get to spend time with my sister. So, a special treat for sure.
AND THEN, I got mail. I never really get anything, so this was nice treat from my daughter.
Yes, Thursday was so great, but Friday was so annoying. I had to people way too much at work, and everyone was working my last nerve. They were either requesting things that don't fall under my department's duties or wanting me to produce documentation without any supporting history. They just wanted to push back when I rejected their cases, and I am not a fan of that. Thank goodness I have two days to recover from it.

Yes, there is a non-fiction book on my list, and it's also a children's picture book. I am determined to complete my 50 States challenge this year, and the Dakotas will NOT be the reason I fail again. I actually thought this was set in South Dakota, but it was North Dakota. However, I guess I will do another Little House book for SD.

How was your week?

Let us know in the comments!
November is here but it's been like Indian summer here too. 70's! Glad you had some nice sister time. I love thin crust pizza...
ReplyDeleteAnimals are so amazing...
It is quite a nice mild fall we are enjoying. I am weird about my pizza, having grown up in Brooklyn, but I am a fan of MJ's. Thin pizza is great because I eat more too. Ha!
DeleteMeant To Be looks really great! I'm curious what you'll think of it. And those TREATS! That's a nice surprise. My mom brought me chocolate last week <3
ReplyDeleteIsn't it nice to get surprise gifts? My daughter ordered one for me and one for herself, and they are very good, I must say.
DeletePeople can be so obtuse when they deal with office workers. They expect everyone to have ALL the answers, no matter their place and rank. I hope you recovered from that!
ReplyDeleteYou didn't mention the election results, so I guess you scheduled this post before they came through, but I'm so happy for you guys, and I hope some normalcy is finally coming your way...
It's a lot of people thinking we should be doing their job because they are WFH. But, that's not the case. You always get pushback when you have to work with people outside your group. Pass the buck is a big thing.
DeleteOur weather go COLD the first week in November! Frost and everything... Ugh. It's supposed to warm up a little this week but summer is definitely long gone now.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a lovely day with your sister and I hope you enjoy the nibbles sent by your daughter! :)
We have had a good fall. A few very cold mornings, but decent during the day. I cannot remember the last time I went out just me and my sister. It's been years. It was nice.
DeleteThat sounds like a fun day with your sister! And what a lovely gift from your daughter! My husband can totally relate to your work woes - he is constantly getting questions and requests for things his department doesn't do.
ReplyDeleteI feel your husband's pain. If they accepted it, when I said no, it would be ok, but they push and that's annoying.
DeleteSo jealous of that gorgeous weather! What a nice day with your sister. I'd love to have one of those. I miss hanging out with my sisters. A List of Cages truly broke my heart.
ReplyDeleteI only really see my sister for holidays, so it was quite a treat. OMG! A List of Cages was very heartbreaking, but the bond between the boys was a beautiful thing
DeleteSorry about the annoying people. They suck. I’m glad you were able to get out of the “office” for pizza. Pizza makes everything better.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Pizza or nachos. It's been too long since I had real nachos
Deletefunny how critters share human traits. that is so cute and sad about losing his brother
ReplyDeletesherry @ fundinmental
It is amazing, right? Broke my heart
DeleteYessssss you loved A List of Cages! And I am so happy you had a great time with your sister Sam! We do need some time out from the COVID.
ReplyDeleteI never really went out that much before covid to be honest, but it was nice to spend time alone with my sister. It's been years since we went out together.
DeleteOh, you're having some nice weather! Perfect for a day of shopping and lunch. Glad to hear you had a nice time with your sister. Love thin crust pizza and macarons! They're so colorful and pretty! What a lovely gift from your daughter. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and I are foodies, but I didn't expect the package. Nice surprise.
DeleteI can't believe November is here, but I will admit that I'm glad to finally have this election season start to come to an end! We've been enjoying cooler weather and buying way too many decorations for our first Christmas in the house!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! It's a nice first to share, and you can enjoy the fruits of your labor for a good month or so
Delete"people way too much at work" wow that's a big mood right there. 😂 (Except I work in customer service so every single day is people too much.)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it's November either! And it's hot??? It's been 70-80°F which apparently wasn't the case two years ago according to some of my journal entries... It also snowed during that time or it was freezing as hell. But nope, not this year.
At my actual job, I sit in a secure room with just 11 other people and hardly have to interact with others. I have PTSD from my time as a phone rep. Hey, if the mild fall turns into a mild winter, I would be happy with that.
DeleteWe are having lovely weather here too. Around 80 and sunny with little humidity. I wish it could stay like this!
ReplyDeleteGotta enjoy it while we can
DeleteWe were in the 20's last night and I am NOT ready for that!!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the annoying parts but it also sounds like you had more good things to balance it out.
Karen @ For What It's Worth
We have our air on during the day, but as soon as it gets dark, it cools off dramatically. I'm ok with that.
DeleteWe're having wonderful weather here too. I played the lazy blogger this weekend and spent most of my days off sitting outside soaking it up. We even grilled on Sunday, which I don't think we have ever done in November before. Sorry to hear last week's reading was kind of a mixed bag. Hopefully this week will be a better one on that front.
ReplyDeleteI shouldn't complain much about my reading, because I get a lot of winners too
DeleteI'm glad you got some time with your sister! That is awesome. And thanks for sharing my post!!!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! It was strange to do so much outside in one day. I was exhausted.
DeleteI am loving the nice temps that we have been having but I doubt they will stick around for long. I hate days at work like the one you describe but they happen way too often. I am so glad to see that you gave A List of Cages 5 stars because I loved that book. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteA List of Cages deserved all the stars for making my heart explode. Yeah, sometimes people just won't take NO for an answer, and I am terrible at pushing back. My manager took on one of the more difficult people for me, thank goodness!
