Top Ten Tuesday: Celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is...

Celebrating Asian Pacific American
Heritage Month!

Actually, the TTT topic was last ten books I abandoned, but I never really feel like doing the negative leaning topics. I want to use my time and space to celebrate the books that made me happy and brought me joy. Therefore, I decided to spotlight some books I absolutely loved, which feature a character of Asian Pacific heritage and/or written by an author of Asian Pacific American heritage. All of these books rated between 4.5 - 5 stars for me, are mostly my more recent reads, and included the links to the reviews.

See any of your favorites on my list?

  3. I never read anything by Sandhya Menon beyond When Dimple Met Rishi, but There's Something About Sweetie does sound like a lot of fun.

  10. OOh nice picks! I still need to read Rebel! I bumped that up in my queue lately! My next few reads I'm focusing on finishing series...some have been waiting years to be read too! Although for Rebel, I feel like I'll re-read the graphic novels to get the quick and dirty recap of the series before starting it! Lol.

    Here's my Tuesday Post

    1. I needed Rebel. I liked that we got to get to know Eden better and to see how everything played out after Champion, but I won't lie, it was all about June and Day for me.

  13. Right? I have a hard time with the more negative TTT topics. I wasn't feeling very creative today, though, so I just went with it.

I like your alternative topic! I haven't read any of these, but most of them are on my TBR list somewhere because I've heard such good things about them. Menon's covers are so cute, too - they always catch my eye.

    Happy TTT!

    1. I don't like doing the negative stuff. So, I don't. I liked what you did though. Menon is definitely a favorite of mine. I wasn't hugely impressed by her last book. It was good, but the others were fantastic.

  17. I love reading stories that immerse me in another culture. It's really fascinating to me. I remember hearing a lot of positive praise for I love you Mochi. Thanks for spotlighting these books. It gives me a handy reference for when I'm looking for a good book that is about a different culture.

  19. You are just too good for this world, Sam. I am over here like YAY SNARK TIME hahaha. I love this topic though! I liked Starfish a LOT (I think Harley is my favorite of hers though!) I liked Love From A to Z a lot too. And The Speaker was pretty good. I really need to read Rebel, too.

    1. I can be a very negative person, and all my CBT training tells me I need to try and not do that. So, I try to not do that. I was not sure about Harley, when I read the description, and therefore, didn't request it, but I do hope to read it at some point. If you liked the Legend series, I feel like Rebel is a must, just because I finally got closure.

  26. I love how you're happy to switch up your TTT topic when you aren't feeling it and this is a great topic. I'm impressed I've actually read a couple of these but now you're reminding me I really need to start Starfish that book has been on my shelf forever and I've heard such good things.

    1. I just like making lists of books I love. There are bloggers, who are all, "I don't do memes", and then they do at least two posts a week of book lists, which is essentially the same as TTT. I'm just saying. It's fun, when everyone is doing the same topic, to gush and whatnot together, but there are times I just don't care for the topic. I do what I want. I liked Starfish a lot, probably better than Summer Bird Blue, though I keep hearing Harley is the best of Bowman's books. I need to read that.

    1. Rebel was the ending I needed years ago. The tears I cried at the end of Champion weren't just for the what happened, but because I thought I would never know what would happen. Sorry, I'm a sap. I needed closure on the romance.

  29. I really need to read Our Wayward Fate. I was a big fan of Chao's first book!
