I want to be totally transparent here: I stopped to learn more about this book, because it had a sciencey name, and my inner geek was all over that. Then, I recognized the name of the author, who I have heard is quite hilarious. Finally, I read the synopsis. Physics and chemistry and using science to make yourself irresistible sound like the makings of a great rom-com to me.

Back in 2015, I read The Summer of Chasing Mermaids, and I immediately knew, I wanted to read more of Sarah Ockler's books. I think there was a sale on her books, and I bought a few. I read three more of her books since then, but have not gotten to this one, her debut. Well, the time has come for me to finally read it. I sense the feels will be strong with this one, as the situation is so sticky, secret relationship with your best friend's older brother, and since, he has passed away. I am so interested finding out the whole story.

I'm constantly reading backlog books as I never read ARCs and rarely read new releases! I'm hoping to fit in some apocalypse and zombie books this week! Maybe ease myself back in with a few novellas...
ReplyDeleteI hope you read some great zombie/apocalypse books. I am weird when it comes to novellas. I have read a few I liked, but most leave me wanting or seem like outtakes.

ReplyDeleteThey sound really different from each other. Twenty Boy Summer had me shedding some tears, whereas, I think I will only be shedding tears due to laughter, when I read Hypothesis

I think Ockler enjoyed a good amount of popularity back in the day. I enjoyed the book, and found it quite moving.
