Thank Goodness for Second Chances!
So, this isn't the official topic, but I have recently read quite a few second chance romances, and just felt the need to share.
I love romances, and my favorite are second chance romances. It can be a husband and wife trying to save their marriage, first loves reunited, or a couple realizing they made a mistake after divorcing. No matter the situation, I just adore the idea that the love between these people never faded, that they carried that spark for each other the whole time. They just needed the right conditions for it to reignite.
Below are some recent second chance romances, which I really enjoyed and left me all sorts of happy and hopeful.
- Roman Crazy by Alice Clayton, Nina Bocci
- The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams
- Once Upon a Bad Boy by Melonie Johnson
- Fumbled by Alexa Martin
- The Girl He Used to Know by Tracey Garvis Graves
- Bad Influence by Stefanie London
- Say You Still Love Me by K.A. Tucker
- Then Came You by Kate Meader
- The Ones Who Got Away by Roni Loren
- Making Up by Lucy Parker

ReplyDeleteMy absolute favorites!
DeleteYes to The Bromance Book Club and The Girl He Used to Know! I loved both of those.
ReplyDeleteBromance definitely lived up to the hype for me, and I was happy about it
DeleteI do love a good second chance romance. The only one from this list that I have read is The Girl He Used to Know which I adored.
ReplyDeleteThat book hit me in the feels. I loved it!
DeleteI LOVE second chance romance. It's one of my top tropes in romance and "husband and wife trying to save their marriage" is one of the second chance situations I'm always up for. I ain't married but it opens up my eyes the ups and downs in marriage, and prepare me for the future. Oh and one of these days, I really should consider picking up The Girl He Used to Know. I see this book a lot in my GR timeline.
ReplyDeleteEvery time I hear someone is getting divorced, it saddens me. I have never been married, but I firmly believe in the HEA, and really like seeing stories with couples not giving up on each other
DeleteThe Girl He Used To Know is the only one of these that I've read so far. Several of the others are on my TBR, though, so hopefully soon!
ReplyDeleteI really loved The Girl He Used to Know. The dual timeline was used really well in that book
DeleteI love reading second chance romances and so far have read and enjoyed three of these, with The Bromance Book Club being the most recent. I really want to try Fumbled and Roman Crazy too.
ReplyDeleteI had Roman Crazy on my TBR for quite a while, and I finally listened to the audiobook, and it was just so good. I loved the concept and with Clayton and Bocci involved, there was a ton of humor.
DeleteI'm SO EXCITED for The Bromance Book Club, so I'm happy to see it mentioned here. :) I love Making Up and The Ones Who Got Away, both made me so emotional and HAPPY for the couples. Great list, Sam!
ReplyDeleteBromance lived up to hype. It moved between funny and sensitive and sexy and heartwarming. I feeling good after reading it
DeleteI adored The Girl He Used To Know and really liked Say You Still Love me!
ReplyDeleteI have been enjoying these second chance romances, which feature flashbacks to the couples' youth. It usually brings in that whole first love thing, and it's very sweet.
DeleteCute topic choice! I don't know if I could remember if any of my past reads involved second chance romance! They might have! I'll have to pay closer attention these days!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!

I guess when the characters are saving the world, they aren't thinking about their romantic lives as much. Though, wasn't the final Starbound book second chance? And Illuminae too?
DeleteI have The Ones Who Got Away and The Girl He Used to Know but haven't read them yet.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to them, because both was so good
DeleteSecond chance romances can be awesome, and inspiring too, I agree. Look like some great choices here! :)
ReplyDeleteI think that's why I like them. They keep me hopeful
DeleteI enjoy a good second chance romance as well. I really need to read the Bromance Club. I have a copy. I am one of the black sheep who didn’t love The Ones Who Got Away. I did love Roman Crazy.
ReplyDeleteI am fan of The Ones Who Got Away, and I thought the series got better with each book. Roman Crazy surprised me. I knew I would like it, but I really loved it.
DeleteThe Bromance Book Club! I haven't read it yet, but I just adore the premise and I can't waaaaait!
ReplyDeleteBromance was so, so good. Perfect blend of humor, romance, and emotion. Loved it!
DeleteVery nice list. Second chance romances are my favorites:)
ReplyDeleteI like to think that there is always a chance to try again
DeleteI adore second chance romances! You have so many good ones listed here.
ReplyDeleteI could add a lot more to this list, because I have read so many, but I was sticking to recent reads. I almost never say no to a second chance romance.
DeleteI didn't think I was much of a second chance romance kind of person but I've read a few of these on here and loved them so maybe I am. I definitely want to check out the ones I've not read yet like Fumbled and Say You Still Love Me. Hopefully I enjoy them too.
ReplyDeleteI like Martin's whole series. TK had intrigued me in the first book, so I was glad to get his story too. Martin gave him a great heroine, who was his back in the day girl. So much history there, and big stakes too.
DeleteI'm not sure I've ever read a second chance romance! I definitely need to check some of these out!
ReplyDeleteI know your not a big romance reader, but there's something about not giving up on each other, that gets to me every time
DeleteThe Bromance book Club and also Fumbled are two romance novels I want to try! I have no problems with second chance romances, but they aren't really my kind of read. I don't reach for them. Mostly because it would be very unlikely that it is something that would happen to me xD So it's not the first kind of romance read I reach for.
ReplyDeleteHey, you never know. I just like the idea that people can overcome their pasts and forge a new future together. It's idealistic, but really beautiful to me.
