Could ten days at a health resort really change you forever? In Liane Moriarty’s latest page-turner, nine perfect strangers are about to find out...I am known to check out a few of those "BIG" commercial fiction books from the library every now and again, and that led me to Big Little Lies back in 2015. My love affair with Moriarty began with that book, and I went on to read and love all her other novels.
Nine people gather at a remote health resort. Some are here to lose weight, some are here to get a reboot on life, some are here for reasons they can’t even admit to themselves. Amidst all of the luxury and pampering, the mindfulness and meditation, they know these ten days might involve some real work. But none of them could imagine just how challenging the next ten days are going to be.
Frances Welty, the formerly best-selling romantic novelist, arrives at Tranquillum House nursing a bad back, a broken heart, and an exquisitely painful paper cut. She’s immediately intrigued by her fellow guests. Most of them don’t look to be in need of a health resort at all. But the person that intrigues her most is the strange and charismatic owner/director of Tranquillum House. Could this person really have the answers Frances didn’t even know she was seeking? Should Frances put aside her doubts and immerse herself in everything Tranquillum House has to offer – or should she run while she still can?
It’s not long before every guest at Tranquillum House is asking exactly the same question.
Liane Moriarty is a go-to for me. She is the master of weaving her characters' lives together in such amazing ways, and she often throws in a nice twist right there at the end, which leaves me with my jaw on the floor. I will always wait eagerly for her next release, and know I will be delighted.
What are you waiting on?

I feel the same way about Liane Moriarty- Big Little Lies was a new kind of read for me and I loved it! I haven't read all of her books yet but I did like the Husband's secret and Truly Madly Guilty- I still need to get to What Alice Forgot- so yeah she's pretty much an auto- but for me now too.
ReplyDeleteWhat Alice Forgot is high on my list. I really loved that one. The last Anniversary had a great little twist in there too.
DeleteI haven't actually tried anything by the author but I've heard plenty about her books and seen them on blogs I follow. Hope you enjoy this one!
ReplyDeleteI hardly read any adult fiction, but she is a go-to for me. I have yet to be disappointed.
DeleteWow, sounds like a good book and I like that there are lots of character and that she makes them interesting. Good pick. I have added this one to my list and must check out this author!
ReplyDeleteMary my CWW!
I hope you get to read one of her books because they are so good
DeleteI've only read Big Little Lies so I need to check out more of her books!
ReplyDeleteThat was good, but not even my favorite. The Husband's Secret is one I loved, because she hits you with this HUGE reveal right at the very end.
DeleteWow, look at all those 5 star ratings! I've only read one of hers (The Husband's Secret) and *really* disliked it (unpopular opinion time!) so I've never felt led to pick anything else up. I hope this latest one is another 5 star read for you!!
ReplyDeleteWow! I thought the book was brilliant. I guess you're not a fan 😬
DeleteI know. :( Like I said, unpopular opinion, for sure. One of those cases where "it's not you, it's me." LOL
DeleteI am still sad 😪
Deletehahahaa Wow, I honestly had no idea she had quite that many books! I think I've only read a single one but this one sounds worth checking out for sure. Hope it's another 5 star read for you. :)
ReplyDeleteEven my least favorite was good. I have a good feeling about this one
DeleteI have one of her books on my Kindle for years and am ashamed I haven't read it yet Sam! Now I do see why you'd want to read this one ;-) Sophie @bewareofthereader
ReplyDeleteWhich one do you have? I hope you get to sample her work someday
DeletePeople sure love this author. I must simply check her out.
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan, and it's really not my norm
DeleteThat's a new tom one! Though the author sounds familiar! I'm sure I'd recognize titles of her books if I saw them! Hope you positively love this one once you get it!
ReplyDeleteHere's my WoW
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
They adapted her book, Little Big Lies, and it was really well received
DeleteI haven’t read all of her books yet but I loved the ones I have read. I think I’m holding off flying through them because then they’ll be over, you know? I’m weird.
ReplyDeleteOnce I read the first one, I had to read them all!
DeleteThis was almost my pick this week too! I just love her books.
ReplyDeleteI cannot get enough of Moriarty. I remember a blogger at BEA 2016 offering to send me her extra ARC of the newest release, and I almost cried.
DeleteYes, I can't wait for this one! I just love her writing and how her stories have a little quirk to them.
ReplyDeleteRight? There is something special about all her stories, and the characters are always so well drawn too.
DeleteWow, I've never read anything by this author! Maybe it's time to change that.
ReplyDeleteShe just knows how to weave a story with this little element of mystery so well. I adore her books!
DeleteI so need to read this. She was just on one of our evening shows here and she's hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI expected her to have a good sense of humor. It definitely shows in her work
DeleteUgh! I am dying to read this book as well! I checked to see if my library has it on order and there are so many requests. I will cross my fingers that it finds its way under my tree this year. I hope that we both love it. :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to be first on my library's list, but I know I will be waiting. I think it will be worth the wait.
DeleteOh wow, that's awesome this is an author you have consistently enjoyed. I still need to read Big Little Lies! This one sounds really good though.

Her books are always great. Great characters, great tangles, and fantastic endings
DeleteLoved What Alice Forgot. Can’t wait to read Nine Perfect Strangers. There are so many authors to read and so little time! Thanks Sam! ❤️❤️
ReplyDeleteAlice was one of my favorites. LM kept me guessing with that one. It actually stressed me out.
DeleteI really Adore Liane Moriarty's writing! I'm waiting for this one too! Hope we love it :)
ReplyDeleteShe is amazing. I will read anything she writes.
DeleteI love Moriarty, but TRULY MADLY GUILTY just did not do it for me at all. The book was a huge disappointment. I'm hoping NINE PERFECT STRANGERS is as good as her earlier novels. I've loved all the ones I've read by her, except TMG!
ReplyDeleteMy least favorite was actually The Hypnotist's Love Story, which I read right before Truly, and therefore, Truly seemed like a return to form.
