Take two American teen chefs, add one heaping cup of Paris, toss in a pinch of romance, and stir. . . .Why do I want to read this, let me list the ways...
Rosie Radeke firmly believes that happiness can be found at the bottom of a mixing bowl. But she never expected that she, a random nobody from East Liberty, Ohio, would be accepted to celebrity chef Denis Laurent's school in Paris, the most prestigious cooking program for teens in the entire world. Life in Paris, however, isn't all cream puffs and crepes. Faced with a challenging curriculum and a nightmare professor, Rosie begins to doubt her dishes.
Henry Yi grew up in his dad's restaurant in Chicago, and his lifelong love affair with food landed him a coveted spot in Chef Laurent's school. He quickly connects with Rosie, but academic pressure from home and his jealousy over Rosie's growing friendship with gorgeous bad-boy baker Bodie Tal makes Henry lash out and push his dream girl away.
Desperate to prove themselves, Rosie and Henry cook like never before while sparks fly between them. But as they reach their breaking points, they wonder whether they have what it takes to become real chefs.
Perfect for lovers of Chopped Teen Tournament and Kids Baking Championship, as well as anyone who dreams of a romantic trip to France, Love la Mode follows Rosie and Henry as they fall in love with food, with Paris, and ultimately, with each other.
- It's written by Stephanie Kate Strohm, and she is my go-to when I want YA funny.
- I think Paris is a wonderful and beautiful city. I will never pass up an opportunity to visit, even if it's only via a book.
- Food? I love food! And though I don't really like to cook, for some reason, I like watching/reading about other people doing it.
- I may be listing this last, but we all know it's one of my favorite things - romance. The answer is always romance.

DeleteI have this one coming up in a couple weeks - great choice! I loved Prince in Disguise and when I saw this one was set in Paris, I knew I had to read it!
ReplyDeleteYes, I am definitely hoping for more of the fun I had with Prince, but to be honest, I have been really happy with every Strohm books I have read.
DeleteI haven't read this author before, but now I feel like I should. I also need to pick up more books about food. I love food too and find baking to be really relaxing.
ReplyDeleteIf you want something light and fun, cute and adorable, Strohm can deliver.
DeleteI don't know if I love reading about cooking or not. As I have never really read a cookbook. I usually just look up what I want to make and that's it. But, I do LOVE food! =)
ReplyDeleteMary
It's interesting to look into the mind of a chef, and try to understand their approach. But I much prefer eating the food 😉
DeleteThis sounds like a fun read. You can’t go wrong with cooking, Paris, and funny! ❤️ What a great romance to share!
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly.
DeleteYes yes yes! Can't wait for this one. I'm counting down the days until we can read it. Wonderful pick, Sam! <3
ReplyDeleteI want to get ahead with my review books, so I can just read it already. Strohm always hits the spot for me.
DeleteThis sounds so cute. In my head I'm picturing some kind of GBBO/Masterchef type antics but in a school environment, if that makes sense? Definitely a book you need to have snacks on hand for, though. Books with food always make me hungry.
ReplyDeleteI hear raves about GBBO, but have never seen it. I agree. I get hungry when they describe delicious food in such great detail.
