This week I can't wait for Love, Life, and the List by Kasie West!!
Kasie West
Series: n/a
Release Date: December 26, 2017
Release Date: December 26, 2017
Publisher: HarperTeen
Waited on by: Sam
Seventeen-year-old Abby Turner’s summer isn’t going the way she’d planned. She has a not-so-secret but definitely unrequited crush on her best friend, Cooper. She hasn’t been able to manage her mother’s growing issues with anxiety. And now she’s been rejected from an art show because her work “has no heart.” So when she gets another opportunity to show her paintings Abby isn’t going to take any chances. If this is not your first visit to WLABB, you are probably well aware of my Kasie West obsession. She is one of my go-to authors, because she just knows how to write the cute, fluffy contemporary romances that I adore.
Which is where the list comes in.
Abby gives herself one month to do ten things, ranging from face a fear (#3) to learn a stranger’s story (#5) to fall in love (#8). She knows that if she can complete the list she’ll become the kind of artist she’s always dreamed of being. But as the deadline approaches, Abby realizes that getting through the list isn’t as straightforward as it seems… and that maybe—just maybe—she can’t change her art if she isn’t first willing to change herself.
This is the first in a set of three standalone books with crossover characters.
Why I want to read this book:
- Obviously, because it is written by Kasie West.
- Friends to more is amongst my favorite type of romances.
- The heroine is on a quest to find her passion in order to save her art.
- I really like books with lists of challenging tasks. I have had great success with this books (see A Semi-Definitive List of Worst Nightmares, Since You've Been Gone, Dash & Lily's Book of Dares - just to name a few)
- Crossover characters!!! This was the most exciting part for me, because there are so many KWest characters, who I would love to see more of, and I am glad West is exploring this option.
What are you waiting on?

I actually like the sound of that list so much. IT's like somehting every one should do I think. I hope you enjoy this -- your love for this author is infectious and wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWest just knows how to balance the fluff with substance, and I agree, a list that challenges you and pushes you out of your comfort zone is a great thing
DeleteOh gosh, I still haven't read a Kasie West book. I really need to do something about that because they always sound so good. The list sounds pretty cool too. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteI am a serious contemporary reader, and KWest is a staple for me. She has been writing up a storm lately, and I couldn't be happier.
DeleteHer books look great, and I love the idea of crossover characters!
ReplyDeleteShe has never done that before, so I am eager to see how she does the crossovers.
DeleteYou know, lately her books have not been working for me, but I still have my fingers crossed that this will be like her older books. Her books used to be so much fun! I hope you love this too! :)
ReplyDeleteThe last book was not my favorite (4 stars), but every other one shows five on Goodreads. The synopsis sounds really promising though.
DeleteI've never read a Kasie West book before, but I see her name on so many blogs! I hope you love this one!
ReplyDeleteShe is definitely a contemporary queen, and has earned her crown.
DeleteI've only read one book by Kasie West but I loved it so much. So I really needt or get my hands on more books by her! ;)
ReplyDeleteI have really enjoyed all her books. The last book was missing a little something, but was still satisfying. This one sounds like it could be seriously great.
DeleteKasie is an autobuy author for me so definitely waiting on this one!
ReplyDeleteShe has been one of my go-tos for years, and I am beyond ecstatic that she is writing so much lately.
DeleteHaven't read anything from this author yet but sounds like I need to. Hope you enjoy this book!

I always say, KWest is best.
DeleteI still haven't read anything by this author. Although I did get to meet her last year at a convention. Guess I should read a book of hers soon. Great pick!

Old Follower :)
You know I love the cute and fluffy.
Delete*Almost* WoW twins! Same author, different books. It's too bad I don't have Scholastic auto-approval like I have Harper auto-approval. I'm hoping to read this one soon. I hope you enjoy this book when you get the chance to read it!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Sam. =)
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
I may jump on this one next week, because I was so excited when I got approved. I will never reach auto-approval status, but Harper is really good to me, so I can't complain. Her next book looks awesome too, but of course it does, because it's a Kasie West book.
DeleteI am on the same page with Kasie West I love her books and she is a go to author for me as well. I can't wait to read this one. I can't wait to see how you like it.
ReplyDeleteShe is so fabulous and I am beyond happy that she has been putting out so many books
DeleteAfter 4 (or more?) books I've realized that KW is very hit or miss for me. A couple I have really enjoyed... a couple were kind of meh. I'm sure I'll still read future releases (I haven't given up on her!) but she's no longer one that I will get ARC's for or must buy on release day.
ReplyDeleteDifferent books, different readers. I understand if she doesn't do it for you, but glad you haven't written West off.
DeleteI'm so excited for a new Kasie West too. I almost preordered this one the other day, but I'm waiting for the price to drop. I'm really interested in this cross-over characters idea. I've seen a couple of contemporary authors do this and didn't West do this with some earlier works. I might have misremembered.
ReplyDeleteI just got approved for this the other day, and I swear, a tear ran down my face. I was so happy. I don't remember her crossing over, though I would love to see some of her old characters again
