My Week in Review
My week was pretty much work, pack, read, repeat. The worst part is the downsizing. It looked a lot like this
On the blog:
- Monday: I reviewed Artificial Sweethearts by Julie Hammerle.
- Tuesday: I shared the top ten series I hope to finish this year.
- Wednesday: I told everyone how I can't wait for the new Stephanie Kate Strohm book, The Date to Save.
- Thursday: I reviewed The Bakersville Dozen by Kristina McBride.
- Friday: I was really happy to part of the blog tour for This is How it Happened. We had a guest post from Paula Stokes, along with a review and a giveaway for any Paula Stokes book. **You can still enter!
What I Read Last Week
I sort of abandoned by TBR last week, but I still read five books and listened to two audiobooks. A loan came through for North of Happy, so I bumped a book for that. Then I saw that Riveted had Dangerous Girls as a free read, and I have really been wanting to read that, so I put Wicked Like a Wildfire on hold, but it was worth it.
- Click'd by Tamara Ireland Stone - ★★★★
- It's OK, I'm Wearing Really Big Knickers by Louise Rennison (audiobook) - ★★★½
- Hope Ignites by Jaci Burton (audiobook) - ★★★★
- Seven Ways We Lie by Riley Redgate - ★★★★
- Trust by Kylie Scott - ★★★½
- North of Happy by Adi Alsaid - ★★★★
- Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas - ★★★★½
What I Am Currently Reading
I picked back up Wicked Like a Wildfire once I finished Dangerous Girls, and am more than half way through. So far, I love it. I have also been listening to For All Time, and it is really fun.
- Wicked Like a Wildfire by Lana Popovic
- For All Time by Jude Deveraux (audiobook)
What I Plan to Read
- The Art of Feeling by Laura Tims
- Under the Lights by Abbi Glines
- The Dazzling Heights by Katharine McGee
- Pilgrims Don't Wear Pink by Stephanie Kate Strohm
How was your week?
Let us know in the comments!
The Dazzling Heights looks really good, I may need to try that series. Now that two books are out I could binge them I guess. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked Dangerous Girls, I did too.
Dangerous Girls was fantastic. It always amazes me how much I like a good suspense-thriller, because I consider myself a character driven reader, and these books tend to have characters that are hard to like. But yeah, jaw dropping. The Thousandth Floor was this interesting Gossip Girl type of story. I sort of loved the idea of the building as a microcosm of NYC, and it had all that delicious drama I loved from GG with a twist.
DeleteWhoa. I really need to read Dangerous Girls! So many great reviews for it, and it really does sound like a gripping and thrilling read! You had such a great reading week! :D
ReplyDeleteIt definitely lived up to all the raves for me. It's free until tomorrow on Riveted
DeleteSounds like a tough week! But you did read a lot. Wish I could read that fast!
ReplyDeleteMy never-ending commute gives me plenty of time to read. I got an extra half hour in on Friday, when they closed the highway between the train station and the campus for a very bad accident.
DeleteOh packing and downsizing are no fun. Glad you liked Dangerous Girls and Seven Ways We Lie- they were ones I enjoyed. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteDangerous Girls was probably my stand-out for the week. It toyed with my head and my emotions. So well done!
DeleteAww! I'm sorry that you had a rough week. But this is it right? You can focus on better things now?
ReplyDeleteOMG! I loved Dangerous Girls! It's so underrated and I wish more readers would pick it up because it deserves all the love and praise!
I hope you enjoy your reads! Happy reading and take care! :)

Oddly enough, I wanted to read Dangerous Girls, because it was popping up on a lot of TTTs (see why I love that meme!). It is definitely a book I will recommend. Loved it!
DeleteI'm curious about Dangerous Girls, and I enjoy Jude Deveraux's books, but it's been a long time since I read one.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
This Deveraux book is so fun with the past lives aspect. Totally enjoying it. Dangerous Girls was awesome.
DeleteOh I haven't read a Jude Deaveraux book in so long! I have such good memories of her books though. I am curious to see what you think of the Abbi Glines book. I have been on the fence about it, but its been sitting on my kindle for awhile!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
I get all my audiobooks from OverDrive or Hoopla. Most of the newer books were unavailable, and I had listened to another Nantucket Bride book and enjoyed it, so I took it out. I am really happy with it. I am over 7 hours in and it has been tons of fun. I liked the first Field Party book, and I am pretty curious about the coupling for this book.
DeleteSorry to hear it has been a rough week. Packing is no fun at all. Your week ahead sounds great though! Happy reading..
ReplyDeletePacking is the worst. Having to pack other people's stuff is the worst of the worst. My reading week saves me from all of life's ills.
DeleteI think I grabbed The Art of Feeling at some point recently so I'm really excited to hear your thoughts. I still plunging through Final Girls but to be honest, haven't had much reading time lately. Hope you have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteThe Art of Feeling sounds like something I would like, maybe not as fluffy, but still in my wheelhouse. I have been seeing Final Girls around a lot. I have read a few good suspense-thrillers lately, I may have to check that one out.
DeleteOh man! Are you moving? (Did I already know that and simply forgot?) Happy moving! I moved last month and it was a bit rough - especially since I've barely unpacked at all and it has been two weeks already. O_O Best of luck with everything and happy reading!
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic week, Sam. =)
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
I feel like I have been moving forever! Moved the kid from Syracuse to home and then to North Carolina, and now I have to move myself. This too shall end.
DeleteWow sounds like you had a good reading week! I'm really excited to try Dangerous Girls! It seems really interesting from the title!
ReplyDeleteI am totally late to the game, but I am glad I finally read Dangerous Girls.
DeleteI hate packing but it's good you found time to read. Again you read so many books that are on my TBR. I also have Wicked Like A Wildfire and I can't wait to start it. I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAs long as I go to work, there will be time to read. That is the silver-lining of my long commute. Wicked Like a Wildfire was really, really good. Of course, it's the beginning of a series, so cliffy, but that is not so unexpected.
DeleteYou got a lot of good reading in this week! I like downsizing in theory but deciding what to get rid of is very hard. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAt times it was like parting with a good friend. I got rid of my 5000+ cds, some that I have had for 30 years. Painful, but necessary
DeleteIt looks like you got a lot of reading done this week! I am so glad you are getting into some shelf love this week! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing to be doing some shelf love. I like getting a break from doing those full out reviews that I do for ARCs
DeleteWow, seems like you had such a good reading week, this is great! Are you moving? Best of luck for all the packing and everything, I get the struggle, I hate packing haha :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you're loving Wicked Like a Wildfire, so impatient for that one :)
Yes, moving after 16 years in our house. So. Much. Stuff. Wicked Like a Wildfire was so good. Cliffy ending, but expected since it is book 1 of the series.
DeletePacking is the pits. *sigh* I hope there is an end in sight!
ReplyDeleteI've heard great things about Dangerous Girls but have never picked it up.
Glad you enjoyed Trust. I loved it. and will buy a physical copy to keep even though I have an ARC. That cover of Wicked Like a Wildfire is gorgeous!
I'll be interested to see what you think of Under the Lights. I finished it last week and need to get that review written.
I will be recommending Dangerous Girls. I was so engrossed and totally loved it. Trust was good, though I thought Scott was a little more graphic than most YA with the sex scenes.
DeleteSorry about the downsizing! I hope things settle down for you soon!
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
I think the end is near. I have no plans to rush to unpack. 😝
DeleteUgh, I am sorry about the packing, that is just the worst! I hope things calm down soon! Also super excited that you are liking Wicked Like a Wildfire, I've been excited to read that one. I still need to read The Thousandth Floor, too- I've been interested, just never got the chance! Hope you have a lovely week!
ReplyDeleteThough the beginning of WLWF is enthralling, you have to be patient to understand the magic. I read some DNFs and they didn't get it, but it is explained. And yes, the worst = packing and being forced to choose which pieces of your life to keep.
