Ten Books I Have Added to My Favorites Shelf This Year!
I have read so many wonderful books this year, and want to lavish praise on them all, but since this is top ten Tuesday, I am focusing on presenting 10 of the books I have added to my favorites shelf this year.

I knew this was going to be an emotional read due to subject matter, but it really hit me a lot harder than I expected it to. It was the story, but it was also the writing. There were passages that where the words and phrasing just perfectly evoked such emotion.

This was such a beautiful story of grieving and healing. It broke my heart, while filling it happiness. This book was filled with some really amazing and beautiful characters, and I loved that little bit of magic Leno put in the story.

Cath Crowley won me as a loyal fan with this book. From my own review: "I could never properly explain how beautiful and gorgeous and incredible this book is. Fowley-Doyle really impressed me with The Accident Season, but she blew me away with this one. This is another author, who always delivers such lovely prose, and can expertly create atmosphere. An captivating tale of love, loss, friendship and family filled with an air of mystery and magical realism.

There is just something really special about Henry's writing. It's so magical and has this dream-like quality that I cannot get enough of. Couple that with this beautiful tale and it was just an amazing reading experience. If Henry writes it, I will read it.

My heart just exploded when I read this one. It was so cute and fun and I smiled from beginning to end. A hilarious, adorable, and endearing story of falling in love, and finding yourself in the process.

This book was so much fun. It had great characters, witty banter, a kick-ass heroine, and lot of action and adventure. I was so swept away by this story, and I am super eager to read the next book.

This was the first book I added to my favorites shelf this year. It is yet another book about a grieving family (why am so attracted to these books?) This one had me laughing one minute and crying the next. It was painfully beautiful at times and also silly fun. A beautiful story of love and healing, of overcoming great losses and being able to be open to new beginnings.
I so want to get to The Daughter of the Pirate King, When Dimple Met Rishi, and Spellbook of the Lost and Found this summer. Glad to see them all on your list this week!

I mostly read contemporaries. I try to push myself to read outside of that genre, but I then I see all the fantastic contemporaries waiting for me to read.
DeleteWords in Deep Blue and Alex Approximately are two I want to read, and Daughter of the Pirate King just looks fun. :) And I keep hearing SO many good things about When Dimple Met Rishi.
ReplyDeletePirate King was really pure fun. So was Dimple and Rishi. The other ones have a little more drama, but it's never too much, and I loved the little add ins. Alex had the movie quotes, which were so well selected, and Words in Deep Blue had the bookstore and the Letter Library, which I just fell in love with.
DeleteLove this list!! I loved Spellbook and A Million Junes so much. I have Everything All at Once and Alex, Approximately to get to and want to read Words in Deep Blue and Aftercare Instructions.

Such a sweet story and I really fell for Rishi. :) And Alex, Approximately has been sitting on my shelf since release day and I still haven't picked it up. Gah! Must do that soon! I didn't get a chance to do TTT yesterday (had another post already scheduled) but a couple of my favorites so far this year have been From Sand and Ash by Amy Harmon, All the Ugly and Wonderful Things by Bryn Greenwood and A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas.

If you look at my update on GR for D&R, I say something like - if Dimple doesn't want Rishi, I'lll take him. I loved him! He knew who he was and what he wanted and I applaud him. I had not planned to do this TTT, because I had a blog tour for yesterday, but when I got home and saw all these TTT posts, I wanted to share my faves too. I have an Amy Harmon book, which I have been wanting to read. People rave about her. I liked ACOWAR, but I could not help but compare it to ACOMAF and that book blew me away.
