It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date. Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus.

This post is for sharing what I read last week, what I am currently reading, and what I plan to read.

What I Read Last Week

Last week was a total contemporary bonanza! I started off with two amazing books: A Million Junes and Eliza and Her Monsters. Loved them! And the week continued to be strong packed with solid reads.

What I Am Currently Reading

I am listening to Hope Flames, and I am somewhat acquainted with the town from the novella, which was fun, so I sort of expect more of the same from this one. I am reading Romancing the Throne, which sounds like it could be fun, but the reviews are all over the place. I am just keeping an open mind with this one.

What I Plan to Read

I just could not wait any longer! I am reading Spellbook before a bunch of books that will be published earlier than it, but I am just an eager beaver. I am also pretty amped to read Words in Deep Blue, as I keep seeing raves for it. Since I am doing an admirable job knocking out my ARCs, I randomly selected one of my sports romances for this week, because I just love those sports romances. They are my guilty pleasure.

    4. Great, thank you! And I have to admit, I don't know if I'm going to continue with the Apollo book. Apollo is far more annoying than he is entertaining at the moment.

    5. Oh no! I have only read the Percy books. Fun fact: I saw a musical version of PJ and the Lightning Thief off broadway a few years ago, and it was great.

    1. I have never watched k-drama, but I had students who were obsessed. The book was cute, and the dynamic between the MC and her father was really special.

  7. I Believe in a Thing Called Love is on my must read list for this year. I've just put in a request that my library purchase it. I'm going to have to do this for Eliza and her Monsters also.
    Thanks so much.

    1. Thing Called Love was silly fun with lots of heart. Eliza was a little deeper, and it has artwork and fanfic of the MC's online comic, which was really cool

    1. I liked it a lot. It has these over the top moments, but from the way k-drama is described, they are appropriate with keeping with that theme.
