This week I can't wait for Spellbook of the Lost and Found.
Moira Fowley-Doyle
Series: N/A
Release Date: June 1, 2017
Release Date: June 1, 2017
Publisher: Kathy Dawson Books
Waited on by: Sam
One stormy summer night, Olive and her best friend, Rose, begin to lose things. It starts with simple items like hair clips and jewellery, but soon it’s clear that Rose has lost something bigger; something she won’t talk about.
Then Olive meets three wild, mysterious strangers: Ivy, Hazel and Rowan. Like Rose, they’re mourning losses - and holding tight to secrets.
When they discover the ancient spellbook, full of hand-inked charms to conjure back lost things, they realise it might be their chance to set everything right. Unless it’s leading them towards secrets that were never meant to be found . . .
Fowley-Doyle's first book, The Accident Season, sits on my favorites shelf. It had so many fantastic elements: twists and turns, beautiful and atmospheric writing, broken and complex characters. I didn't just read this book, I imbibed it. When I saw that Fowley-Doyle had a new book coming out, I did a little bit of this
And this
And this too
I was definitely excited. From the blurb, I am expecting another suspenseful tale, filled with lots of creepy moments, and I just CANNOT WAIT to read it.
So you were excited huh? :) I don't know this author, but given your reaction, I think I need to rectify that! Here's mine: http://editingeverything.com/blog/2017/04/19/waiting-oncantwait-wednesday-two-roads-ya-sliding-doors/#comment-111810
ReplyDeleteKiersten, one of the other WLABBers, loved her debut, and then I read it, and I loved it too. So, I am hoping lightening strikes twice.
DeleteI've been eyeing this one for some time. Sounds awesome and I guess it isn't too much of a wait now.
ReplyDeleteI try to pick books from my TBR that are not too far off. This is an author, who's debut dazzled me, and I am excited to read more of her work.
DeleteI haven't read this author before. I kind of want to after reading this post. I hope you enjoy it once you get a chance to read it.
ReplyDeleteWell, I can definitely attest to how much both I and my co-blogger, Kiersten, loved her first book. I am keeping my fingers crossed that she dazzles me once again.
DeleteThis sounds really good and I like that cover! I hope you love it!!
ReplyDeleteThis cover has a similar vibe to the paperback cover for The Accident Season. So, I am hoping the books have a similar vibe too.
DeleteWow! This book looks interesting! Great pick!

Yeah! I hope we read it about the same time, so I can compare notes.
DeleteYou've got me with a one-two punch Sam: I'm convinced I need to read The Accident Season, and now I'm eager to get my hands on this one too! There's something about a quietly magical read that always calls to me.
ReplyDeleteWell, I hope you love Accident Season as much as I did. It had mystery with romance, secrets, and an interesting family dynamic. But it's the writing that won me. It's lovely and I was totally pulled into the world.
DeleteI've been meaning to read The Accident Season for ages (I think it's been on my Amazon wishlist since before it came out) but this one sounds even more up my alley. And the cover is gorgeous!
