Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books on My Spring TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This weeks topic is...

Top Ten Books on My Spring TBR

Happy Pi Day! I have a TBR, that if written out, would reach from here to the Great Wall. Needless to say, it was a difficult task picking ten for this list. It kind of reads like a list of Waiting on Wednesday posts, and I don't own most of these books. However, I will do everything in my power to try and read these books.

A Court of Wings and Ruin
Sarah J. Maas
Series: A Court of Thorns and Roses, #3
Publisher: Bloomsbury Childrens Books

This is one of my favorite SFF series. I know, I don't read a lot of SFF, but this one is just incredible, and the ending of ACOMAF! I needed this book like ten seconds after I finished ACOMAF. Therefore, this book has the HIGHEST priority on my Spring TBR.

Eliza and Her Monsters
Francesca Zappia
Publisher: Greenwillow Books
Goodreads

This was one of my WoWs for a myriad of reasons. First and foremost: cover lust (I know, I am shallow). That cover is a thing of beauty, and it is my understanding that there will be more amazing artwork in the book. The story also sounds amazing, and I suspect, this will be a book I could love.

Avenged
Amy Tintera
Series: Ruined, #2
Publisher: HarperTeen
Goodreads

Tintera won me over with Ruined. I was totally swept away by Tintera's storytelling, and I found myself so invested in the characters. There was magic, battles, action, romance, and just an overall great story. Oh, there was a cliffy too. So, I think it's obvious why I need to this book!

Royal Bastards
Andrew Shvarts
Publisher: Disney-Hyperion
Goodreads

True story: This was one the first (and few) digital ARC rejections I received. Nonetheless, I still really want to read this book. This title was one of my TTT: 2017 Debuts I'm Excited For, and I am still excited. All the buzz has been good, and it sounds like it will be a lot of fun. Hoopla gets a lot of Disney titles, so hopefully, it will get this one too, guaranteeing I read it.

Windfall
Jennifer E. Smith
Publisher: Delacorte Press
Goodreads

This book was also one of my Wows. Jennifer E. Smith is one of my favorite contemporary authors. Her books always leave me feeling happy, warm, and fuzzy. The biggest reason I want to read this book is because she wrote it. The premise also appears to have the promise of being super cute, though, interestingly enough, another of my warm-fuzzy-authors (Kasie West) has a book coming out with a lottery win involved. I am interested in seeing how each author spins that plot.

Lord of Shadows
Cassandra Clare
Series:The Dark Artifices, #2
Publisher: Margaret K. McElderry Books
Goodreads

This one is simple: I just MUST read this book. I was a later reader of the Shadowhunter books, but once I started, I just plowed right through them all. I love this world, and CC gave us such a wonderful cast in this next generation of Shadowhunters in this series. I love the Blackthorns so much, I am still holding out for them adopting me into the family. As part of a series, I obviously want to read this book, because I have to find out what happens next. I was so upset after the ending of Lady Midnight. I know Clare must be inflicting all this heartache on me for a reason, and fingers crossed, I get some answers (and resolution?) in this book.

Once and For All
Sarah Dessen
Publisher: Viking Books for Young Readers
Goodreads

I want to read this book pretty much for the same reasons that I want to read Windfall. It is written by another of my happy-warm-fuzzy authors. Sarah Dessen books always leave me feeling contented. She writes contemporary YA romances with just the right amount of angst, humor, and drama. I know when I pick up one of her books, it will leave me purring like a cat.

More of Me
Kathryn Evans
Publisher: Amulet Books
Goodreads

This is an SFF book with a very intriguing concept. The MC, Teva, has a genetic anomaly, which produces a clone herself every year. Each year, the "new" Teva takes control of the life, but now, the current Teva wants to keep her life and will battle the new clone for control. Sounds interesting, right? I am also on a big push to read debut authors, because I want to say I was there at the beginning when they blow up. *Grins*

Words in Deep Blue
Cath Crowley
Publisher: Knopf Books for Young Readers
Goodreads

This one has been on my radar for a while, and I was ecstatic when I was approved for this ARC. A few awesome things: a book about books, love letters, and second chances. I love books, I love love, and any story with second chances always keep that fire of hope alive in my heart.

Always and Forever, Lara Jean
Jenny Han
Series: To All the Boys I've Loved Before, #3
Publisher: Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers
Goodreads

I am sort of nervous about this one. I adore this series, and cannot wait to be back in the swing of things with the Song sisters, but I am terrified that Han is going to sink my ship. She keeps putting Lara Jean and Peter in stormy seas, and he really was my favorite the whole time. Fingers crossed!

What are some books you hope to read this spring?

  1. I still need to read ACOMAF but if I love it as much as everyone says I should, I'll be reading ACOWAR shortly after!

    1. I know! I frustrated with the ending of Lady Midnight. I totally ship Julian and Emma and need them to work out this taboo thing.

  4. GAH so many of these! I should have put Lara Jean on mine, but I don't own her yet of course! And I am so bummed, I was supposed to be getting Windfall, and actually was supposed to post a review tomorrow, but I never got it, and the publicist never responded back to me. ::SOBS:: Definitely need to read Words in Deep Blue- I have heard such amazing things! And More of Me, too! Eliza and her Monsters and Royal Bastards made my list too! And I NEED to read ACOMAF soon, because I am so behind, and I refuse to allow myself to pre-order ACOWAR until I read ACOMAF ;) GREAT picks, I hope you love them all!
