What I Read Last Week
I thought I did pretty well sticking to my planned list, but maybe I should have consulted my post. I didn't realize until I was more than halfway through The Cad and the Co-Ed, that I was supposed to read Book 2 - The Player and the Pixie. Since these are companion books, it worked out, but I definitely deserve a face-palm for that one.
My favorite read was Daughter of the Pirate King (you can enter to win a copy here), but I also loved At First Blush. I have a penchant for sort of light and fluffy contemporaries and this one delivered in spades. One book that surprised me was The Moment of Everything. I selected this audiobook on a whim, because I needed a book with a cat on the cover for my PopSugar Reading Challenge, and was really pleased with how much I enjoyed it.
- Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller - ★★★★★
- Double Black by Ali Dean - ★★★
- The Moment of Everything by Shelly King - ★★★1/2
- Dear Mr. Knightley by Katherine Reay - ★★★
- At First Blush by Beth Ellyn Summer - ★★★★ 1/2
- The Cad and the Co-Ed by L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid - ★★★★
- Crush by Nicole Williams - ★★★
- Noteworthy by Riley Redgate - ★★★★
What I Am Currently Reading
I am currently listening to Roman and reading Geekerella. I just started Geekerella, but I began listening to Roman yesterday on my drive back from Syracuse. The Cold Fury books are always pleasing to me, and I am throughly enjoying Roman.
- Roman by Sawyer Bennett
- Geekerella by Ashley Poston
What I Plan to Read
Mackintosh's last book was a solid 5 star read for me, so I am pretty excited to read I See You. Keeping the Moon finally became available on Overdrive and it's the only published Dessen book I have not read. You can say I was pretty happy to be able to check this one out. When Dimple Met Rishi is getting a lot of hype and I have heard good buzz on Alex, Approximately. I hope this will be a stellar reading week.
- I See You by Clare Mackintosh
- Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennett
- Keeping the Moon by Sarah Dessen
- When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandy Menon

Hi Sam, Gosh, you've been busy! Well done. I see you keeps popping up everywhere, need to look into it. You have a number of great books listed here. Quite a different selection... Will have to stop by a bit more.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week!
I have a long commute, and I could sleep or read. I choose reading! It makes the bus, train, shuttle ride more bearable. =) I hope you have a great week too!
DeleteThe Moment of Everything sounds so good! I need to read it. I have also always wanted to read Sarah Dessen. I have to get on that! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI was really surprised by how much I liked The Moment of Everything. Maybe it was the whole idea of this woman with her life in flux with this mysterious love story thread. It had a bunch of great characters too. I really love Dessen. My three top picks by her would be: Just Listen, Along for the Ride, and the Truth About Forever. She just has a knack for writing a contemporary YA book that hits that perfect balance. Hope your week is great too!
DeleteI've heard nothing but love for When Dimple Met Rishi. I hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI was so excited when I got that one!!!
DeleteNetflix has ignored my request for Dimple and Rishi *cries* and I'm really excited about Alex, Approximately. I haven't LOVED Sarah Dessen's last couple books, so I'm hoping to love this one.
ReplyDeleteJen @ YA Romantics
I am pretty excited about Dimple and Rishi. It looks like EXACTLY my kind of book. Dessen is on my short-list (with Jennifer E Smith, Morgan Matson, and Kasie West), who always gives me the type of YA contemporary romance I love. I am keeping my fingers crossed that NetGalley grants my wish for her new one.
DeleteI've added Daughter of the Pirate King to my list. Looks good. Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteI really like Pirate King. Alosa was fabulous! I hope you enjoy it!
DeleteGreat reading week. Gotta check out the Sarah Dessen book. Looking forward to I See You too. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteAfter I read that Dessen book, I will be ready for the new one. Hope your week is awesome!
